A belt for suspending and/or driving an elevator car includes a plurality of tension elements extending longitudinally along a length of the belt, and a jacket at least partially encapsulating the plurality of tension elements. The jacket defines a traction surface of the belt configured to be interactive with a drive sheave and a back surface opposite the traction surface. The jacket is formed from a first material. One or more material strips are located at one or more of the traction surface or the back surface to improve one or more operational characteristics of the belt. The one or more material strips formed from a second material different from the first material.

Wear and performance sling with hybrid material webbiing

A webbing for use with a tiedown or sling which has overall increase strength efficiency when compared to known tiedowns or slings which use texturized yarn. The webbing contains non-texturized yarn material having reduced elongation characteristics in the core, combined with non-texturized yarn having higher elongation and improved wear characteristics on the exterior surfaces.

Knot protector

The knot protector protects ropes and knots from ledges, rocks, railings, edges, walls, cliffs, and other surfaces that may cause the fibers of the rope to be gradually abraded or destroyed. The knot protector includes a sleeve formed from an upper portion, a lower portion, and a shoulder portion. The upper portion defines a first opening while the lower portion defines a second opening. The diameter of the first opening is smaller or less than that of the second opening. The sleeve is formed from a deformable, continuous web and has exterior and interior layers. The sleeve also contains visual safety indicators along the base of the lower portion to provide visibility. The exterior and interior layers are made from durable material to provide the rope with ample protection from abrasion.

Rope made of textile fiber material, comprising a twine of excess length
20220074136 · 2022-03-10 ·

The invention relates to a rope made of textile fiber material, comprising a rope core and a sheath surrounding the rope core, wherein the sheath, an intermediate sheath located between the sheath and the rope core and/or a reinforcement located between the sheath and the rope core comprise(s) a twine of excess length, the twine of excess length being formed in that it comprises at least a first yarn and a second yarn which are twisted together, the first yarn having a greater length than the second yarn, measured in an untwisted state of a unit length of the twine. In a further aspect, the invention relates to a method of manufacturing a twine of excess length for the above-mentioned rope.

HYBRID HOISTING CABLE, METHOD OF FORMING THE SAME, AND WINCH USING SUCH A CABLE

The invention concerns a hoisting cable formed of a steel core coated at its periphery with a textile sheath, wherein said textile sheath is a sheath directly braided on the steel core and made of an abrasion-resistant synthetic material.

High-strength fibre rope for hoisting equipment such as cranes

A high-strength fibre rope (1) comprising a rope core as well as a sheathing indicating optical wear, wherein the sheathing comprises a sheath layer (2) made up of textile subunits (3, 4) of a first hierarchy level. An outermost sheath layer (2) is provided, wherein textile subunits (3, 4) of said outermost sheath layer of the first hierarchy level differ from each other in terms of their textile structure, and/or an outermost sheath layer and a further sheath layer underneath said outermost sheath layer are provided, and wherein the textile subunits of the first hierarchy level of said outermost sheath layer differ in their textile structure from that of said further sheath layer. The textile subunits of a lowermost hierarchy level of the rope are neither dispersed in a resin matrix in the outermost sheath layer nor in the further sheath layer arranged underneath the outermost sheath layer.
