METHOD OF MANUFACTURING TEXTILES WITH INTEGRATED ELECTRICAL PATHS AND ELECTRONICS
Methods for manufacturing a textile article having conductive yarn and an integrated electronic device are disclosed. An embodiment of the method includes receiving computer-readable instruction indicative of a knitting pattern of the textile article. Based on the instructions, a textile is formed by knitting conductive yarn and non-conductive yarn. A weld is applied at a junction where two or more conductive paths meet to create a bond between the two or more conductive paths.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A KNITTED FABRIC COMPRISING A VERTICAL YARN FILAMENT
A method for manufacturing a knitted fabric embodying a basic knit, into which at least one functional yarn filament, such as an electrically conductive yarn filament, is incorporated as a vertical yarn filament (F3). The basic knit is formed from a first and a second yarn (F1, F2) using a plaiting technique. The vertical yarn filament (F3) is incorporated by a third yarn carrier (FF3) positioned, on a third yarn carrier rail located between respective yarn carrier rails for the first and the second yarn carriers (FF1, FF2), at a location at which the vertical yarn filament (F3) is to be incorporated. During formation of a sequence of stitch rows (MR1-MR7) using the first and second yarns (F1, F2), the first yarn (F1) is guided over the vertical yarn filament (F3) on a front side of the knitted fabric and the second yarn (F2) is guided over the vertical yarn filament (F3) on a back side of the knitted fabric.
Textile fabric implementing a capacitive grid
It is disclosed a textile fabric comprising a first set of electrically conductive and externally isolated yarns (22) separated by isolating textile yarns (24); a second set of non-isolated conductive yarns (23); a plurality of textile yarns interlacing the first and the second set of yarns (22, 23), wherein part of the interlacing textile yarns are non-isolated conductive yarns (23) in order to form an electrical grounding grid with the non-isolated conductive yarns (23) of the second set of yarns and part of the interlacing textile yarns are isolating textile yarns (24).
CONTACT PRESSURE SENSOR, KNIT PRODUCT HAVING SAME, AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING CONTACT PRESSURE SENSOR
A contact pressure sensor detects a pressing force applied to a pressed body by a pressing body through a sensor portion disposed between the pressing body and the pressed body, wherein the sensor portion is formed of a knitting yarn including a carbon nanotube yarn, and the sensor portion includes a pressing body contact surface with which the pressing body comes into contact; a pressed body contact surface with which the pressed body comes into contact; knitting yarn intersecting portions formed between the pressing body contact surface and the pressed body contact surface; and void portions formed between the pressing body contact surface and the pressed body contact surface, the void portions being spaces in which the knitting yarn is not disposed.
ELECTROCALORIC FIBER, FABRIC AND SYSTEM COMPRISING SAME
An electrocaloric fiber includes an electrocaloric material surrounding a centrally located electrode. The electrocaloric fiber may further include an outer electrode surrounding the electrocaloric material. The electrocaloric fiber may be used to form an electrocaloric fabric.
Connectors for integrating conductive threads to non-compatible electromechanical devices
An electrical circuit assembly comprising: a circuit component, a fabric-based component, and a fastener is disclosed along with methods for fabricating the electrical circuit assembly and for using the electrical circuit assembly. The circuit component may comprise: a substrate layer comprising an integrated circuit disposed on the substrate layer; and a first conductive linkage electrically coupled to the integrated circuit. The fabric-based component may comprise: a fabric layer comprising a first at least one conductive thread; and a second conductive linkage electrically coupled to the first at least one conductive thread. The fastener may be configured to couple the circuit component and the fabric-based component at the first conductive linkage and the second conductive linkage.
CONTACT SENSOR
A contact sensor and system for incorporation within clothing and other wearable items to monitor activity at a body surface. The sensor includes a contact membrane having a body surface contacting area and one or more base layers of knitted fabric. The base layer(s) is thicker over an area congruent with the body surface contacting area of the contact membrane. As a result, the contact membrane is urged into the forming of a raised outer surface for projection against a body surface.
MULTI-SENSOR RESISTIVE TEXTILE ECG SYSTEM
An ECG sensor system comprising: a substrate having a first side and a second side, the substrate of a non-conducting material; a plurality of textile-based sensors positioned on the first side, each of the plurality of textile-based sensors spaced apart from one another on the first side, the second side covering one side of the each of the plurality of textile-based sensors as an insulating covering, the each of the plurality of textile-based sensors including conductive fibres interlaced with one another; and a conductive trace connected to the each of the plurality of textile-based sensors, each of the conductive traces for connecting the plurality of textile-based sensors to an electronic controller for sending and receiving electronic signals from a selected pair of the plurality of textile-based sensors.
