One-piece woven vehicle occupant protection device and method for manufacturing the same
A method for manufacturing a one-piece woven (OPW) air bag includes providing yarns having a spin finish and warping the yarns on at least one beam of a loom. The yarns are simultaneously woven into a fabric air bag structure having two layer portions defining an inflatable volume and single layer portions forming seams delimiting the inflatable volume. The air bag structure is coated to cover the spin finish. The coated air bag structure is cut to define the one-piece woven air bag.
Airbags and methods for production of airbags
Methods for production of automobile airbags with decreased air leakage and an increased duration of their inflated state, as well as airbags produced in accordance with these methods are provided.
Airbag Patch Cloth
The present disclosure provides an airbag patch cloth that has superior packability and cutting resistance upon deployment of the airbag, and which is particularly suitable for a curtain airbag. The airbag patch cloth is a woven fabric which satisfies the following equations: P.sub.x=E/(T.sub.x×F.sub.x)×1000, P.sub.y=E/(T.sub.y×F.sub.y)×1000, wherein E indicates the kinetic energy (J) of a block and a blade. In the equations, T.sub.x indicates the average value (mm) of a torn length in the warp direction, F.sub.x indicates the linear density (dtex) of the warp constituting the fabric, T.sub.y indicates the average value (mm) of a torn length in the weft direction, and F.sub.y indicates the linear density (dtex) of the weft constituting the fabric. At least one of dynamic tear characteristics P.sub.x and P.sub.y is greater than or equal to 0.8.
Airbag base fabric and airbag
The present invention relates to an airbag base fabric including a woven fabric made from a yarn containing polyethylene terephthalate as the main raw material, the yarn having a single fiber fineness of 1.0 to 3.9 dtex and a total fineness of 280 to 470 dtex, and, in a Raman spectrum obtained by irradiating the yarn with a He—Ne laser with a wavelength of 630 nm, I.sub.x/I.sub.0 being 1.20 or more, where I.sub.x is the spectral intensity at 3083 cm.sup.−1, and I.sub.0=277.4.
POLYESTER BASE FABRIC FOR AIRBAGS
The present invention is to provide a polyester fabric for airbags famed from a polyester fiber, which can reduce costs, and the polyester fabric for airbags has high restraint performance for receiving the occupant during deployment and maintains the performance at high levels even after aging, while maintaining the mechanical characteristics as a fabric for airbags. The solution to the object is to provide a polyester fabric for airbags having a coating resin on at least one surface characterized in that the polyester fabric has an optimized crimp ratio and has scrub test strokes of 400 or more after aging treatment at 70° C. at 95% RH for 408 hours.
ONE-PIECE WOVEN OCCUPANT RESTRAINT SYSTEM
A method for manufacturing a one-piece woven (OPW) air bag includes method for manufacturing an OPW airbag. The method includes providing yarns, warping the yarns on at least one beam of a loom, and simultaneously weaving yarns into a fabric air bag structure having two layer portions defining an inflatable volume and single layer portions forming seams delimiting the inflatable volume. A plurality of the yarns overlay one another to form nonwoven alignment elements in at least one of the single layer portions. The air bag structure is cut to define the OPW air bag. The alignment elements are aligned with alignment elements on a panel. The air bag structure is sewn to the panel with the alignment elements aligned with one another.
Base Cloth for Material and Manufacturing Method Therefor
Provided are a base cloth for a material and a manufacturing method therefor, the base cloth suppressing opening of a boundary portion between an expanding part and a non-expanding part when used in a bag body, having low dynamic air permeability, and being capable of exhibiting the characteristic of being unlikely to burst even at high temperatures. A fabric base cloth for a material according to the present invention is composed of fibers having a prescribed thread breaking strength value, and for which the cloth surface is not subjected to resin coating, laminating, or a resin impregnation treatment.
ONE-PIECE WOVEN OCCUPANT RESTRAINT SYSTEM
A method for manufacturing a one-piece woven (OPW) air bag includes providing yarns and warping the yarns on at least one beam of a loom. Yarns are simultaneously woven into a fabric air bag structure having two layer portions defining both an inflatable volume and non-inflatable portions and single layer portions forming seams delimiting the inflatable volume. The air bag structure is cut to define the OPW air bag and at least one opening extending through only one layer of the two layer portions.
Low permeability and high strength woven fabric and methods of making the same
A method for producing a woven fabric comprises weaving fibers in a warp direction and a weft direction to form a fabric having a top surface and a bottom surface, wherein the warp fibers and weft fibers each comprises one or more filaments of a synthetic polymer having substantially uniform cross-sectional composition. At least a portion of the filaments in the fibers on the top and/or bottom surface of the fabric are then fused together in the presence of a heat transfer liquid or vapor added during the fusing step or added in a prior step of the fabric production process and retained by the filaments. The fusing step produces a treated fabric having a tensile strength in both the warp and weft directions of 1000 N or greater and having, in the absence of any coating, a static air permeability (SAP) of 3 l/dm.sup.2/min or lower.
BIDIRECTIONAL LOW TEARING STRENGTH SPACER TEXTILE USING WARP KNITTING
