[Problem to be solved] To provide a papermaking felt excellent in smoothness of a joined portion (no welded portion mark or base fabric mark is generated), and an efficient manufacturing method thereof.
[Solving means] A papermaking felt wherein, in at least one base fabric composed of a MD yarn material in the felt running direction (MD direction) and a CD yarn material in the felt crossing direction (CD direction) and having MD-direction end regions and CD-direction end regions, at least one of the MD-direction end regions and the CD-direction end regions are overlapped with each other, wherein said overlapped portion is welded without removing a part or all of the MD yarn material or the CD yarn material in said overlapped portion, and wherein, when the average thickness of the welded portion of each base fabric is x (mm) and the average thickness of each base fabric before welding is y (mm), the relationship between x and y of the at least one base fabric satisfies the following formula (1):
0.5≤x/y≤0.95 (1)
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A BASE STRUCTURE FOR A PAPERMACHINE CLOTHING
A method for producing a base structure of a clothing for use in a machine producing and/or processing a fiber web. The clothing base structure is a laminate formed of at least two layers and the layers are formed substantially from polymer material. The method includes the following steps: locally melting the polymer material of the two layers by the action of radiation from a radiation source and pressing the polymer material of the two layers onto each other. The polymer material of the two layers is thereby guided into a press nip formed by two press rolls, forming an inlet gap, and the radiation is directed into the inlet gap.
Papermaking felt and method for manufacturing the same
A papermaking felt includes at least one base fabric composed of a MD yam material in the felt running direction (MD) and a CD yarn material in the felt crossing direction (CD) and having MD end regions and CD end regions, at least one of the MD end regions and the CD end regions are overlapped with each other, the entire overlapped portion is welded without removing a part or all of the MD yarn material or the CD yarn material in the overlapped portion, and when the average thickness of the welded portion of each base fabric is x (mm) and the average thickness of the material portion of each base fabric is y (mm), the relationship between x and y of the at least one base fabric satisfies the following formula (1):
0.5?x/y?0.95.
Extruded paper machine clothing and method for the production thereof
A clothing for a machine producing and/or processing a fibrous web extending in longitudinal and widthwise directions, includes a basic structure providing dimensional stability in longitudinal and/or widthwise directions. The structure includes a band-shaped, one-piece grid having widthwise-adjacent first material strands and polymer material having lengths in a longitudinal direction, and adjacent second interconnected material strands and/or droplets and polymer material, contacting the first strands at contact points forming the grid. The strands and/or droplets are deposited by extrusion of the polymer materials in liquid or pasty state onto a depositing surface forming a portion or all of the grid in liquid or pasty state, the polymer materials are solidified, converting the portion or the grid from liquid or pasty to solidified, stable, self-supporting state producing bonding at the contact points, and removing the portion or the grid from the surface.
