Papermaking belts having offset openings, papermaking processes using belts having offset openings, and paper products made therefrom
A belt for creping a web in a papermaking process. The belt includes a surface onto which the web is transferred during the papermaking process. A plurality of openings extend through the surface, with the openings being arranged in lines that are offset from lines in the machine direction (MD) and cross-machine direction (CD) of the belt. Paper products, such as absorbent sheets, made from the belt have hollow dome regions and connecting regions between the domes, with the domes being arranged in lines that are offset from lines in the MD and CD of the paper products.
ABSORBENT TISSUE PAPER PRODUCT, METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING THE SAME
The present disclosure relates to an absorbent tissue paper product comprising one ply being an essentially continuous ply of fibrous structure having a first side and a second side, the first side having a surface roughness arithmetical mean height (Sa1), and said second side having a surface roughness arithmetical mean height (Sa2). Said ply has a micro-embossed structure and a difference between the surface roughness arithmetical mean heights of the first side and the second side is 7 μm or less (|Sa1−Sa2|≤7 μm), and said ply having a bulk of at least 7.5 cm3/g. The disclosure also relates to a method and an apparatus for producing such an absorbent tissue paper product.
PAPER FORMING MOLD, MOLD MANUFACTURING METHOD, AND PAPER MANUFACTURED BY FORMING MOLD
A paper forming mold, comprising a roller (1). A number of through micropores are formed on a wall of the roller (1), and one or more patterns and characters of a normal watermark, a white watermark, a windowed security thread, and a paper marker are carved on the wall of the roller (1). The paper forming mold has a high reproducibility for an original watermark design draft, improves consistency, clarity, three-dimensionality, detail refinement and richness of the watermark in paper, and thus enhances the anti-counterfeiting function of the watermarked paper; the service life of the paper forming mold is prolonged; and the automation level of paper forming mold manufacturing is improved, and the labor intensity is greatly reduced.
Methods of making a deflection member
A method for manufacturing a deflection member is disclosed. The method may include the steps of providing an additive manufacturing apparatus that includes at least one radiation source and a vat containing a photopolymer resin, providing a reinforcing member, contacting a surface of the reinforcing member with the photopolymer resin, and directing radiation from the at least one radiation source towards a surface of the reinforcing member to at least partially cure photopolymer resin in contact with the surface of the reinforcing member to create at least a portion of a lock-on layer.
Methods of making a deflection member
A method for manufacturing a deflection member is disclosed. The method may include the step of incorporating a monomer, a photoinitiator system, a photoinhibitor, and/or a reinforcing member. A further step includes blending the monomer, photoinitiator, and/or photoinhibitor to form a blended photopolymer resin. Further steps may be emitting a first wavelength and emitting a second wavelength. A further step may be polymerizing the monomer to form a resinous framework comprising protuberance locked-on to the reinforcing member.
A METHOD FOR COATING A FIBROUS WEB, AND A SURFACE COATED FIBROUS WEB
A method is provided for coating a fibrous web, in particular a fibrous web comprising nanocellulose fibres. The method includes steps of applying a coating agent to a textured surface region of a textured substrate, applying a fibre furnish or a wet fibrous web onto the coated textured surface region of the textured substrate, optionally dewatering to provide a wet fibrous web, and drying said wet fibrous web such that at least a portion of said coating agent is transferred to said fibrous web. The method provides a coated fibrous web with improved barrier properties.
MULTI-PLY FIBROUS STRUCTURE-CONTAINING ARTICLES
Articles, for example multi-ply fibrous structure-containing articles such as multi-ply sanitary tissue products, containing two or more fibrous structure plies, and more particularly to multi-ply articles containing two or more fibrous structure plies having a plurality of fibrous elements wherein the articles exhibit improved bulk and absorbent properties compared to known articles and methods for making same, are provided.
Multilayer creping belt having connected openings, methods of making paper products using such a creping belt, and related paper products
An absorbent sheet made by a process that includes the steps of forming a nascent web from an aqueous papermaking furnish, and creping the nascent web on a multilayer belt that includes (i) a first layer made from a polymeric material having a plurality of overlapping openings, and (ii) a second layer attached to the first layer, with the nascent web being deposited onto a surface of the first layer. The absorbent sheet includes a plurality of hollow domed regions projecting from a side of the absorbent sheet.
Tissue products formed from multi-apex emboss elements and methods for producing the same
Products having improved emboss definition, emboss visibility, and perceived softness are described. The tissue products comprise an emboss pattern including multi-apex, high aspect ratio embossing elements that do not suffer from the prior art issues of bunching, puckering and folding. When included in a multi-ply product, the embossed tissue also possesses less adhesive than prior art patterns resulting in a product with improved softness and drape.
Device and method for producing a pulp web
The invention relates to a method and a device for drying a pulp web, with dewatering of the pulp web by pressing and the pulp web being guided directly on the press belt to a first transfer area for transfer of the pulp web to a transfer clothing and transfer of the pulp web in a second transfer area to a dryer. It is characterized in that the pulp web undergoes thermal drying between the first transfer area and the second transfer area. This enables production of a pulp web with improved quality characteristics and low energy consumption at the same time.
