A press cover contains at least one polymer layer in which a reinforcing structure is embedded. The reinforcing structure contains at least one reinforcing thread, wherein the material of the reinforcing structure and that of the at least one polymer layer are selected such that the visible light transmittances thereof differ from each other.

This invention relates to a method for manufacturing a belt for a paper, board, pulp or tissue machine, the belt (5) comprising a body (14), and a reinforcing structure (31, 32), the belt (5) having an inner surface (10) and an outer surface (11), wherein the method comprises: applying a coating comprising a solid lubricant on to a casting cylinder (18), drying the coating comprising the solid lubricant, thereby obtaining solid lubricant particles (29) on the casting cylinder (18), casting a body material (21) onto the casting cylinder (18) in order to form the body (14) on the solid lubricant particles, and providing the reinforcement structure (31, 32) into the belt, thereby obtaining the belt in which the solid lubricant particles forms at least part of the inner surface of the belt. This invention relates to an arrangement for manufacturing a belt for a paper, board, pulp or tissue machine. The invention further relates to a belt for a paper, board, pulp, or tissue machine.

The object of the invention is to provide a shoe press belt which has an excellent strength while the variation in strength among its parts being suppressed, and to provide a method for producing such a shoe press belt. Provided is a shoe press belt for use in a papermaking machine comprising at least one resin layer, wherein the resin layer comprises a polyurethane resin formed by curing an urethane prepolymer having an isocyanate group with a curing agent having an active hydrogen group, wherein the curing agent comprises one or more polycarbonate diol(s) expressed by the following formulae (1) and (2).

A press cover for a press roll or a transport belt has at least one polyurethane-containing layer. The polyurethane is obtainable by reaction of i) a polyol component, ii) an isocyanate component, and iii) a component containing at least one crosslinker. The polyol component is composed of mutually different structural units having the general formula —O—R.sup.1—X—R.sup.2—O— in which all of R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 independently of one another are identical or different and are linear or branched C.sub.1-C.sub.20 alkylene groups. Groups X are identical or different and are selected from bond, O, C(O)—O, and O—C(O)—O. At least 70 wt % of the structural units meet the following criteria: a) at least 80% of X are O—C(O)—O and the remainder are O or C(O)—O, and b) the average chain length of R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 is 8 or more carbon atoms, and c) at least 50% of R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are independently of one another a linear or branched C.sub.8-C.sub.12 alkylene group.

Provided is a shoe press belt for use in a papermaking machine comprising at least one resin layer, wherein the resin layer comprises a polyurethane resin formed by curing an urethane prepolymer having an isocyanate group with a curing agent having an active hydrogen group; the urethane prepolymer is obtained by reacting a polyisocyanate compound comprising 4,4′-methylene bis(phenylisocyanate) with a polyol compound comprising polytetramethylene ether glycol; and the curing agent comprises (a) polycarbonate diol(s).

A press cover or jacket includes at least a first and a second polymer layer. The first polymer layer is a radially outermost polymer layer as seen relative to the longitudinal axis of the press cover and has a thickness that is at most 60% of the overall thickness of the press cover as seen in the radial direction of the press cover. The first polymer layer includes grooves or holes which are incorporated in the radially outermost lateral surface thereof and the depth of the grooves or holes, as seen in the radial direction of the press cover, have a depth that corresponds at most to 95% of the thickness of the first polymer layer. A press roll, a shoe press and a method of using a press cover are also provided.

The invention relates to a press jacket comprising at least one polymer layer, where the polymer layer comprises, or has been produced from, a polyurethane, where the polyurethane has been formed from a prepolymer and a crosslinking agent, and the prepolymer is a reaction product of phenylene 1,4-diisocyanate and of a polyol, where the crosslinking agent comprises the following components: a first component comprising 1,4-butanediol or 1,4-hydroquinone bis(2-hydroxyethyl) ether (HQEE), a second component comprising at least one aliphatic diamine, a third component comprising at least one alkanolamine.

The invention relates to a press belt for a shoe press. A press belt (5) is an endless loop made of elastomeric material and its outer surface (11) is provided with several grooves (13) to remove water. On the outer surface (11) of the press belt, there is at least one section where the depths (GD) of adjacent drain grooves, from the outer surface, change constantly. The invention also relates to an arrangement in a long nip and to a method of manufacturing a press belt.
