METHOD AND MACHINE FOR PRODUCING A FIBROUS WEB WHICH CAN BE ELONGATED IN THE TRANSVERSE DIRECTION
A method for producing a web of fibrous material includes the steps of: bringing the web into contact with a heated cylinder, the web being able to be elongated in a transverse direction; guiding the web, together with an elastic belt, over the heated cylinder, the web being between the elastic belt and a cylinder surface; pressing the web against the heated cylinder by the elastic belt; subjecting the elastic belt to a pre-tensioning—which is at least one of variably adjustable and controllable—in the transverse direction before being brought into contact with the web; and relieving the pre-tensioning of the elastic belt generated in the transverse direction again after formation of a steam cushion between the web and the heated cylinder, such that the web is shrunk with the elastic belt in the transverse direction in a sliding manner over the steam cushion on the heated cylinder.
WORKPIECE OF YANKEE CYLINDER SECTION AND PROCESS FOR MANUFACTURING A YANKEE CYLINDER
The present invention relates to a process for manufacturing a Yankee cylinder. The process comprises welding the first reinforcement flanges of two workpieces of Yankee cylinder section from inside of the cylinder case, preheating and welding the two workpieces of Yankee cylinder section from outside of the cylinder case, and then removing the first, second reinforcement flanges, radial inner end area of the weld and their surrounding material in the workpieces of the Yankee cylinder section, so that the joint of the two workpieces of Yankee cylinder section is machined to meet the final dimension requirements for the Yankee cylinder inner grooves. The present invention is also related to a workpiece of Yankee cylinder section used in the said process.
WET NON-WOVEN FABRIC, PREPARATION METHOD THEREFOR AND WATER TREATMENT MEMBRANE CONTAINING WET NON-WOVEN FABRIC
Disclosed are a wet non-woven fabric, the use of the wet non-woven fabric as a supporting layer of a water treatment membrane, a method for preparing the wet non-woven fabric, and a water treatment membrane containing the wet non-woven fabric. The wet non-woven fabric has an average pore size of no greater than 20 .Math.m, a maximum pore size of no greater than 40 .Math.m, and a maximum pore size/average pore size ratio of no less than 1 and no greater than 12.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A FOAM WEB
Method for producing a sterilized foam web, wherein the method comprising the steps of preparing a wet foam (1),feeding the wet foam (1) to a head box (2, 11),distributing the wet foam by the head box (2, 11),treating the wet foam (1) with electron beam radiation (3a, 3b, 3c) to immobilize and sterilize the wet foam (1),receiving the electron beam treated foam on a moving wire (4) to form a foam web (6, 13), pressing and the foam web (6, 13),and drying the foam web (6, 13).
Air hood for a Yankee roll and system comprising a Yankee roll and said air hood
The air hood (3) for Yankee rolls (1) comprises at least one supply circuit (5, 6, 7) to supply dry hot air towards outlets (7A) to a working area, and at least one suction circuit (11) to suck wet air from the working area. The hood comprises a thermal insulation insulating at least partially the supply circuit from the suction circuit.
A YANKEE DRYING HOOD ARRANGEMENT, A YANKEE DRYING CYLINDER FITTED WITH A YANKEE DRYING HOOD ARRANGEMENT AND A METHOD OF DRYING A FIBROUS WEB
The invention relates to a Yankee drying hood arrangement (1) which has a first temperature main supply conduit (9, 9′) for a fluid such as hot air, or hot air and steam and/or water vapour, at a first temperature T1 and a second temperature main supply conduits (10, 10′) for a fluid such as hot air, or hot air and steam and/or water vapour, at a second temperature T2 which is not the same as T1, the first temperature and second temperature main supply conduits (9, 9′, 10, 10′) being in communication with the distributor conduits (8) such that a fluid such as hot air can stream from the first temperature and second temperature main supply conduits (9, 9′, 10, 10′) to the distributor conduits (8), wherein at least one distributor conduit (8) is provided with damper means (31) for changing the ratio between amount of fluid at temperature T1 from the first temperature main conduit and the amount of fluid at temperature T2 from the second temperature main conduit that streams into the distributor conduit.
METHOD OF MAKING A MOLDED PAPER WEB
A method of making a molded paper web. The method includes forming a nascent web from an aqueous solution of papermaking fibers, moving a dewatered web on a transfer surface, and applying a vacuum at a molding zone defined between the transfer surface and a molding roll. The molding roll includes a permeable patterned surface on an exterior of the molding roll. The method also includes transferring the dewatered web from the transfer surface to the permeable patterned surface at the molding zone. The vacuum is applied during the transferring of the dewatered web, and the papermaking fibers of the dewatered web are (i) redistributed on the permeable patterned surface and (ii) drawn into a plurality of recess of the permeable patterned surface, in order to form the molded paper web.
Yankee dryer profiler and control
A method for creping paper includes applying an adhesive composition to an outer surface of a creping cylinder (Yankee cylinder) to form an adhesive coating, contacting paper with the adhesive coating, removing the paper and adhesive coating from the creping cylinder, and determining a quality of the adhesive coating. Determining the quality of the adhesive coating may include measuring a degree of cross-linking of the adhesive polymer, a concentration of the adhesive polymer in the adhesive coating, a water content of the adhesive coating, an ash content of the adhesive coating, or combinations thereof. Determining the quality of the adhesive coating may also include determining a thickness of the adhesive coating by measuring light absorbed by the coating and calculating the thickness using Beer's Law. Systems and apparatuses for determining the quality of the adhesive coating and for creping paper are also disclosed.
