SEALING STRIP AND SEALING DEVICE
20220333306 · 2022-10-20 ·

A sealing strip and a sealing device for sealing a negative-pressure zone of a suction roller for a machine for producing or processing a fibrous web, such as a paper, board or tissue machine. The stealing strip has an upper face, which forms a sealing surface of the sealing strip, and the sealing strip includes a sensor unit, which has a first temperature sensor at a first distance from the sealing surface and a second temperature sensor at a second distance from the sealing surface. The first distance is smaller than the second distance. The sealing strip is formed of a base material and a protective material which is different from the base material, and the sensor unit is embedded, in particular cast, into the protective material.

A drying hood for drying a fibrous web, such as a tissue paper web, includes a plurality of nozzle boxes for supplying or discharging air and a housing that at least partially surrounds the nozzle boxes. The nozzle boxes are each individually mounted on the housing by a first bearing and a second bearing. The two bearings allow at least one movement of the nozzle box relative to the housing along a longitudinal axis of the nozzle box and/or at least one movement in a direction transverse thereto, along a transverse axis of the nozzle box. The two bearings have translational degrees of freedom differing by one. A drying arrangement having a drying cylinder and the drying hood is also provided.

Method and apparatus for removing water from a capillary cylinder in a papermaking process

The present disclosure relates to methods and apparatuses for removing water from a wet fibrous web. During the process of making a fibrous structure, a capillary dewatering apparatus remove water from a wet porous web. In some configurations, a capillary dewatering apparatus may include a capillary porous media. A molding member, such as a papermaking belt comprising an air permeable fabric, may advance the wet fibrous web onto the capillary porous media, wherein the fibrous web is positioned between the capillary porous media and the air-permeable fabric. An energy transfer surface may be positioned in contact with the air-permeable fabric or the outer circumferential surface, wherein the energy transfer surface operates to vibrate the capillary porous media. In turn, the vibration helps to drive water through the capillary porous media, allowing additional water to flow from the fibrous web and through pores in the capillary porous media.

Suction roll seal strip monitor and lubrication water control system

A suction roll includes: a cylindrical shell having an internal lumen and a plurality of through holes; a suction box positioned in the lumen of the shell; a suction source operatively connected with the suction box; at least one seal strip attached to the suction box and configured to assist in forming a seal between the suction box and the shell; a sensor attached to the seal strip; and a controller operatively connected with the sensor. The sensor is configured to convey signals to the controller, the signals being processed in the controller to provide data on the seal strip on at least one of temperature, wear, vibration, and pressure.
