An uncoated nonwoven fibrous mat having a reduced air porosity is disclosed comprising a first plurality of fibers having a length between about 10 mm and 20 mm and an average diameter between about 9 μm and 15 μm; a second plurality of fibers having a length between about 3 mm and 8 mm and an average diameter between about 5 μm and 8 μm; and a binder composition. The uncoated nonwoven fibrous mat has an air porosity less than about 550 CFM.

Embodiments of the present invention further relates to a paper wet strength composition, its use in paper making and a paper obtainable therefrom.

Strength agent, its use and method for increasing strength properties of paper
The invention relates to a strength agent for paper, board or the like. The strength agent comprises a first component, which is refined cellulosic fibres having a refining level of >70° SR, and a second component, which is a synthetic cationic polymer having a charge density of 0.1-2.5 meq/g, determined at pH 2.7, and an average molecular weight of >300 000 g/mol. The invention relates also to a use of the strength agent and to a method for increasing strength properties of paper, board or the like.

The method includes the processes of: applying a resin-containing liquid comprising at least one of a resin and a resin precursor to a base paper for decorative boards; forming a print layer on or in the base paper which is not dried after the resin-containing liquid is applied thereto; and solidifying a liquid contained in the base paper having the print layer.
