PRINT MEDIA

The present disclosure is drawn to print media, laminated decor products, and methods of making the same. In one example, a print medium can include an open paper substrate and a multivalent metal salt treatment applied to the open paper substrate at a multivalent metal salt loading into the open paper substrate at from 0.5 gsm to 5 gsm. The open paper substrate can include wood fiber including softwood fiber, hardwood fiber, or a blend of softwood fiber and hardwood fiber; binder including starch, protein, or hydrophilic polymer; and from 20 wt % to 50 wt % of TiO.sub.2.

SUPER CLEAR CELLULOSE PAPER

Wood fibers possess natural unique hierarchical and mesoporous structures that enable a variety of new applications beyond their traditional use. For the first time we dramatically modulate the propagation of light through random network of wood fibers. A highly transparent and clear paper with transmittance >90% and haze <1.0% applicable for high-definition displays is achieved. By altering the morphology of the same wood fibers that form the paper, highly transparent and hazy paper targeted for other applications such as solar cell and anti-glare coating with transmittance >90% and haze >90% is also achieved. A thorough investigation of the relation between the mesoporous structure and the optical properties in transparent paper was conducted, including full-spectrum optical simulations. We demonstrate commercially competitive multi-touch touchscreen with clear paper as a replacement for plastic substrates, which shows excellent process compatibility and comparable device performance for commercial applications. Transparent cellulose paper with tunable optical properties is an emerging photonic material that will realize a range of much improved flexible electronics, photonics and optoelectronics.

DISPERSIBLE ADHESIVELY BONDED TISSUE LAMINATE
20230234330 · 2023-07-27 ·

Disclosed is a dispersible adhesively bonded wet tissue laminate and more particularly a dispersible wet wipe comprising two or more adhesively bonded tissue plies. Generally, the wipe comprises first, and second tissue plies adhesively bonded to one another by an adhesive, particularly a triggerable binder, disposed at the interface of the plies. The first and second tissue plies preferably comprise fibrous tissue plies and more preferably wet-laid tissue plies consisting essentially of conventional papermaking fibers. The adhesively bonded laminates are generally strong enough to withstand use, such as having a geometric mean wet tensile strength (GMWT) greater than about 250 g/in, but disperse quickly in water, such as having a Slosh Time less than about 60 minutes.
