Inorganic material composition and utilities thereof
Inorganic particulate compositions containing inorganic particles associated with a copolymer of a hydrophilic monomer and a hydrophobic monomer associated with the inorganic particles are provided. The particulate composition satisfies at least one of the following properties: a BET surface area of the inorganic particles is greater than 8 m.sup.2/g, a Hegman value of the inorganic particles is 75 microns or less, and a rate of water loss from the composition upon drying from a moisture level greater than 2% wt % is at least 30% greater than a composition having a corresponding content of a polyacrylate polymer associated with the particles. A method to prepare the composition and formulations for inks, paints, coatings and filled polymeric articles containing the inorganic particulate composition are also provided.
Saccharide fatty acid ester inorganic particle combinations
The present disclosure describes methods of treating cellulosic materials with compositions that allow greater retention of inorganic particles on cellulosic substrates. The methods as disclosed provide combining saccharide fatty acid esters (SFAE) with such inorganic particles and applying such combinations on cellulosic materials to eliminate or reduce the use of retention aids or binders for filler in the paper making process. Compositions comprising such combinations of SFAE and inorganic particles are also disclosed.

Paperboard for packaging of liquid and/or frozen food
The present invention discloses a paperboard for packaging of liquid and frozen food, comprising a dispersion coating as the only barrier layer on its outside/print side. It has surprisingly been found that a dispersion coating comprising latex and pigment applied on the outside/print side of a paperboard for liquid and/or frozen food may serve as the only barrier against moisture arising from condensation.

The present invention relates generally to the field of polymer dispersion coated, paper-based flexible packaging materials. In particular, the present invention relates to improving the barrier properties of polymer dispersion coated 5 paper-based flexible packaging materials. Embodiments of the present invention relate to a process for improving the barrier properties of polymer dispersion coated paper-based flexible packaging materials comprising the step of applying an Al2O3 coating to at least one surface of the dispersion coated paper-based flexible packaging materials, for example by using atomic layer deposition; and an Al2O3-coated paper material 10 obtainable by such a process.

The invention relates to a paper coating slip composition comprising a copolymer of thickening acrylic acid, a mineral material in the form of particles, a binding agent, and water. The invention also relates to the use of said composition for the production of paper or cardboard, improving the water retention of the paper coating slip.
