A METHOD FOR COATING A FIBROUS WEB, AND A SURFACE COATED FIBROUS WEB
A method is provided for coating a fibrous web, in particular a fibrous web comprising nanocellulose fibres. The method includes steps of applying a coating agent to a textured surface region of a textured substrate, applying a fibre furnish or a wet fibrous web onto the coated textured surface region of the textured substrate, optionally dewatering to provide a wet fibrous web, and drying said wet fibrous web such that at least a portion of said coating agent is transferred to said fibrous web. The method provides a coated fibrous web with improved barrier properties.

SECURITY DOCUMENT HAVING ENHANCED FOIL DURABILITY
A security document, along with its methods of formation, is provided. The security document may include a base sheet, a colored coating on the base sheet, a foil laminate on at least a portion of the colored coating, and an outer lacquer coating over the colored coating such that the foil laminate is embedded between the colored coating and the outer lacquer coating. The outer lacquer coating may include a polymeric resin, and may also include a crosslinking agent and a wetting agent.
High pressure decorative laminate having a top layer of energy cured acrylated urethane polymer
A laminate lay-up includes a coated decorative paper layer having a decorative paper layer with a textured coating layer applied thereto. The textured coating layer is comprised of a UV curable coating composition. The laminate lay-up also includes a decorative layer and a core layer.
Packaging material with at least one barrier layer for hydrophobic compounds
The invention relates to a coated packaging material that has a substrate having a base material of cellulose, an outer side to be faced away from the packaging item as well as an inner side to be faced towards the packaging item. The inner side of the substrate carries at least one layer of an aqueous composition, which includes at least polyvinyl alcohol and/or at least one polyvinyl alcohol copolymer as well as a cross-linking agent, wherein the aqueous composition has at most 40% by wt. of polyvinyl alcohol and/or polyvinyl alcohol copolymer and a total solid content of at most 55% by wt. The layer and cross-linking the polyvinyl alcohol and/or the polyvinyl alcohol copolymer is dried with the aid of the cross-linking agent with formation of a barrier layer for hydrophobic compounds are performed.
