Coating Agent for Paper and Coated Paper Using Same
A coating agent for paper comprises: an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer, wherein the ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer has a content of ethylene units of 1 mol % or more and less than 20 mol % and a block character of the ethylene units from 0.90 to 0.99. Coated paper is obtained by coating paper with such a coating agent. The coating agent of the present invention is excellent in viscosity stability and also causes the resulting coated paper to be excellent in barrier properties and water resistance.
ORGANOPOLYSILOXANE COMPOSITION FOR USE IN RELEASE PAPER OR RELEASE FILM
This organopolysiloxane composition for use in release paper or release film, said organopolysiloxane composition containing (A) an organopolysiloxane having two or more silicon atom-bonded alkenyl groups in each molecule, (B) an organohydrogen polysiloxane having two or more silicon atom-bonded hydrogen atoms (Si—H groups) on average in each molecule, (C) an organic peroxide and (D) a specific amount of a platinum group metal-based catalyst, is capable of undergoing an addition reaction with a smaller amount of the platinum group metal-based catalyst in comparison to the prior art, thereby being capable of forming a cured coating film which has a release strength equivalent to that of the prior art even in cases where a component that inhibits the catalytic activity of the platinum group metal-based catalyst is contained in the composition. In addition, this organopolysiloxane composition is capable of forming a cured coating film by means of an addition reaction even on a base material containing a catalyst poison component, on said base material conventional compositions being not able to be cured.
Release-paper base paper and method for producing same, and release paper
Release paper base paper includes a substrate; and a coating agent containing a modified polyvinyl alcohol (A) and sodium acetate, the substrate coated with the coating agent, wherein the modified polyvinyl alcohol (A) has 0.005 mol % or more and less than 10 mol % of double bonds derived from unsaturated carboxylic acid or a derivative thereof (B) in side chains, has 1.4 mol % or more and 2.0 mol % or less of 1,2-glycol bond, units, and is water soluble, and a content of the sodium acetate relative to the modified polyvinyl alcohol (A) is 0.01 mass % or more and 10 mass % or less. The release paper base paper of the present invention is excellent in sealing properties for silicone. Use of the release paper base paper allows acceleration of curing of silicone in a release layer and improvement in adhesion between the substrate and the release layer.
ORGANOPOLYSILOXANE COMPOSITION FOR USE IN RELEASE PAPER OR RELEASE FILM
In the present invention, compounding an addition-reaction-curable organopolysiloxane composition with a specific amount of an organopolysiloxane compound that has three or more (meth)acryl groups in the molecule and a weight-average molecular weight of 1,000 or greater yields an organopolysiloxane composition for use in a release paper or release film in which addition reactions can occur using a small amount of platinum family metal catalyst, cured films can be formed having a peeling strength approximating levels encountered in the past, and addition-reaction-prompted curing will proceed even on a base material containing a catalyst-poisoning component.

Casting papers and their methods of formation and use
Methods are generally disclosed for forming and using a casting paper. In one embodiment, the casting paper can be made by coating a first surface of a base sheet with a release coating such that the release coating covers the entire first surface of the base sheet. A printed release coating is then applied on a portion of the first release coating, and is dried or cured as needed to form the casting paper having a textured surface defined by elevated areas corresponding to the printed release coating and valley areas corresponding to exposed areas of the printed release coating. In another embodiment, the casting paper can be made by first printing a base sheet with a patterned, structured coating, then coating over the patterned, structured coating with a release coating such that the release coating covers at least the unprinted areas of the base sheet. The casting paper can be used to form a texturized surface in a substrate.
