Decorative Panel and Method of Manufacturing a Decorative Panel
The invention relates to a decorative panel, in particular a floor panel, ceiling panel or wall panel, and to a method for manufacturing such decorative panel. The panel according to the present invention comprises includes at least one foamed layer comprising including an upper side and a lower side, and at least one decorative solid layer either directly or indirectly, affixed on said upper side of the foamed layer, wherein both the foamed layer and the decorative solid layer are wood based materials. The invention also relates to a floor covering consisting of a plurality of such panels.
FORMALDEHYDE-FREE HIGHLY WATER AND ABRASION RESISTANT OVERLAY FOR BUILDING PRODUCTS
A paper based overlay is provided. The overlay has a paper impregnated with a resin composition having an acrylic resin having a glass transition temperature in a range of from about −20° C. to about 40° C. and a resin content from about 15 to about 35 wt. % based on the weight of the overlay. The acrylic composition may include wax in the amount of about 0.005 to about 3.5 wt. % based on the weight of the resin composition. A method of producing the overlay is also provided. The overlay is highly water and abrasion resistant with low volatile content.
CONTINUOUS PROCESSING OF CELLULOSE NANOFIBRIL SHEETS THROUGH CONVENTIONAL EXTRUSION
The present disclosure provides to a novel continuous processing method to prepare sheets comprising cellulose nanofibril (CNF) and carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC). Single screw extrusion was utilized to continuously process mechanically fibrillated cellulose nanofibrils (CNF) into sheets. Water-retention ability and stability of CNF suspensions containing different processing aids was assessed through centrifugation and zeta potential analysis. Subsequently, highly loaded pastes (up to ˜25 wt. % total solids content) containing the best performing processing aids (carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC), xanthan gum (XG), and anionic polyacrylamide (aPAM)) and CNF were prepared using a Brabender with Banbury mixer-head at a dry weight ratio of either 0.1 to 1 or 0.15 to 1, respectively. Validation of the mixing procedure proved that highly loaded CNF pastes can be processed in under 40 minutes, saving up to 40 days in preparation and drying time.
Laminate pigment with spacing properties and high UV-greying stability
The invention relates to a titanium dioxide particle with high opacity and UV-greying resistance comprising two silica coats and at least one alumina coat, to a method for the obtaining the same, and to the use of said particle in a method for obtaining a decorative paper laminate or a décor foil. The present invention further pertains a decorative paper laminate or a décor foil containing said coated titanium dioxide particle.
DECORATIVE PAPER LAYER AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING LAMINATES
A decorative paper layer may include a base paper layer, an inkjet receiver coating and a pattern formed thereon by digitally applying inks from a set of a plurality of differently colored inks. At least one of the inks may include color pigments having an average particle diameter larger than 150. The inkjet receiver coating may include silica pigments, in which the silica particles are particles of precipitated silica and/or silica gel and/or have an average particle size which is at least 4 times larger than the average particle diameter of the color pigments and/or have an average particle size of 1 to 40 micrometer.
Melamine decorative laminated sheet
A melamine decorative laminated sheet has a melamine resin layer and a low refractive index layer which is formed upper than the melamine resin layer and has a lower refractive index than a refractive index of the melamine resin layer.
Melamine decorative laminated sheet
A melamine decorative laminated sheet has a melamine resin layer and a low refractive index layer which is formed upper than the melamine resin layer and has a lower refractive index than a refractive index of the melamine resin layer.
COVERING LAYERS FOR ELASTIC LAMINATE THAT COMPRISE A SEPARATE SURFACE COATING
The invention relates to a method for producing a covering layer for elastic laminate comprising a) impregnating a carrier fabric, b) applying a surface coating comprising a crosslinker and a prepolymer that can be crosslinked via reactive end groups, c) crosslinking the crosslinkable prepolymer, and d) drying the elastic laminate covering layer. The papers obtainable in this manner are suitable for producing a laminate that, with the elastic outer face thereof, has a pleasant and appealing feel underfoot and good haptics.
PROCESS FOR MAKING A DÉCOR PAPER HAVING IMPROVED OPTICAL PERFORMANCE
The disclosure describes a process for making a décor paper from a dispersion with improved optical performance by (a) combining a treated TiO.sub.2 particle having a surface area of at least about 30 m.sup.2/g with water and a cationic polymer to form a TiO.sub.2 particle slurry; wherein the treated TiO.sub.2 particle comprises an oxide selected from the group consisting of silicon, aluminum, phosphorus and mixtures thereof; and the oxide is present in the amount of at least 15% based on the total weight of the treated titanium dioxide particle; (b) combining the TiO.sub.2 particle slurry of step (a) with paper pulp and a cationic polymer. The dispersion provides equal optical performance using less TiO.sub.2 when compared to the same dispersion not comprising the TiO.sub.2 particle slurry of (a). These décor papers are useful in preparing paper laminates.
