STONE PAVER AND HEAVY OBJECT LIFTING APPARATUS
A lifting apparatus has a handle and a scissor grip. The scissor grip is actuated by pushing the handle downward or by lifting it upward. Each end of the scissor grip comprises a bracket for coupling to opposing edges of an object to be lifted. As the handle is raised, the scissor grip actuates, squeezing and holding the object between the brackets. Alternatively, in some embodiments, as the handle is raised, the scissor grip may actuate, expanding and exerting outward force and thus holding an object from an interior. A user may then easily transport the object to the desired location, place the object without bending, and may release the object from the scissor grip by pressing downward on the handle and pivoting it to release at least one bracket from the side of the object.
A VACUUM LIFTING DEVICE
A vacuum lifting device to facilitate the lifting and/or repositioning of an article having an external surface as set out herein comprises at least one pair of handles and a base having opposed first and second surfaces, the base having an aperture arranged through the base. The second surface is arranged is provided with a continuous sealing joint projecting downwards from the second surface defining an enclosed area which includes the aperture on the bottom surface of the base. The vacuum lifting device also comprises a suction conduit arranged to be connected to a vacuum generating member and configured to be in fluid connection with the second surface of the base through the aperture. The vacuum lifting device further comprises an extendable lifting member arranged between the at least one pair of handles and the first surface of the base, the lifting member is actuated by a lift actuating member for shifting the base in a vertical direction transferring said vacuum lifting device (10) between an extended and a compressed state. A method for using the vacuum lifting device is also disclosed.
Hand-held, self-powered paver moving tool with an operator-supported rechargeable vacuum power pack
The paver moving tool (10) includes a suction head (12), a shaft (24) secured to the suction head (12), a lift-handle (30) secured to a top end (28) of the shaft (24), and one of a first and a second rechargeable vacuum power pack (34, 50) operably coupled in fluid communication with the suction head (12) for selectively applying a vacuum force through the suction head (12) to an adjacent paver (20). The rechargeable vacuum power packs (34, 50) are supported on either the shaft (24), the lift handle (30) or on a backpack (53) on an operator of the self-powered paver moving tool (10) while the operator is using the tool (10).
Device and method for arranging and setting tiles and non-vegetative ground covering on a substrate
A tile and non-vegetative ground covering setting device including a housing, slidable rods with turning support means and stationing means are described herein. In some examples, the setting device includes a pair of housings and two pairs of slidable rods. In other examples, a slidable rod may be positioned perpendicularly to the other slidable rods. The device also comprises a platform, a handle, and an adequate number of securing means to maintain integrity of the device.
