Road structure, corrosion-resistant conductive sheet used for the road structure, and method for peeling off asphalt layer

A road structure, an asphalt layer of which is peeled off by electromagnetic induction heating, includes a non-thermoplastic base layer, an asphalt layer located above the base layer, a conductive sheet between the base layer and the asphalt layer, a first bonding layer that bonds the conductive sheet and the base layer; and a second bonding layer that bonds the conductive sheet and the asphalt layer. The conductive sheet is configured to generate heat based on electromagnetic induction. At least the first bonding layer is a thermoplastic bonding layer configured to be softened by the heat.

Methods, compositions and systems for enhancing the useful life of a transportation surface

Methods, compositions and systems for prolonging the lives of transportation surfaces, including pavement, runways, bridges and parking structures include physically altering the transportation surface and chemically protecting the transportation surfaces. Physical alteration of a transportation surface may include physically altering one or both of a microtexture and a macrotexture of the transportation surface. Chemical protection of a transportation surface may include hardening and/or densifying the transportation surface. The transportation surface may be chemically protected while physically altering the transportation surface or after the transportation surface has been physically altered.

Automatically patterning a surface coating applied to a pavement surface without the need to place, remove and continuously clean stencils. The automatic patterning is provided by a matrix of interspersed spray nozzles arranged on parallel bars. Each of the plurality of spray nozzles is capable of blasting out a gas or liquid at the surface coating to create grout lines in the surface coating, where the grout lines form patterns in the surface coating. An actuator is utilized to move the parallel bars back and forth in a first direction while a vehicle traverses the surface coating in a second direction. The combination of the movement provided by the actuator and the movement provided by the vehicle is used to create the direction, angle and length of the grout lines and the patterns formed.
