ASPHALT PAVING AND STRIPPING SYSTEM AND METHOD USING HYDROPHOBIC MICROWAVE ABSORBING MATERIAL
20220341101 · 2022-10-27 ·

Asphalt paving and stripping system and method involves the use of a primer, comprising hydrophobic microwave absorbing material mixed in a hydrophobic liquid, between an asphalt layer and a base layer below. The primer is configured to be deposited on the base layer at room temperature without preheating. Heating the hydrophobic microwave absorbing material, sandwiched between the asphalt and base layers, by microwave energy, allows striping of the asphalt layer from the base layer by a wheel loader.

LOW-EMISSION HOT-IN-PLACE ASPHALT RECYCLING EQUIPMENT TRAIN SYSTEM
20220333316 · 2022-10-20 ·

The invention relates to a low-emission hot-in-place asphalt recycling equipment train system, which comprises at least three heating units, a milling unit, a centralized hot mix heating unit, a mixing unit, and compatible paving and compacting units. The hot-in-place asphalt recycling equipment train system realizes stepwise uniform heating of pavements, recycling of heat energy, centralized treatment and discharge of fumes, centralized and uniform hot mix heating of materials without causing damage, simultaneous metering and feeding of required materials at multiple points, and on-site mobile batch mixing.

MICROWAVE CELL SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ASPHALT TREATMENT
20230069672 · 2023-03-02 ·

The present disclosure describes systems and methods that employ a plurality of microwave applicator cells as a combined unit to continuously travel along an asphalt surface to treat the existing asphalt with microwave energy. The microwave treatment reanimates the existing (and likely damaged) asphalt to a workable state that is almost identical in nature to newly laid asphalt. The microwave system is configurable to span the width of a standard road lane, wherein the continuously traveling system efficiently repairs damaged roads with minimal down time.

Dielectric Profile Exhaust Drying System
20230060768 · 2023-03-02 ·

The present invention provides for a profiling mount device for redirecting the exhaust energy of a compactor onto an asphalt surface and a method to use it. The profiling mount device to cause surface moisture located on the asphalt surface to be dried. A dielectric sensor is attached to the profiling mount device such that it can take a dielectric constant reading at the desired location where the exhaust energy dries the asphalt surface. The dielectric constant reading is taken by a dielectric profiling system (DPS). The dielectric profiling system cannot accurately read the dielectric constant of an asphalt section when surface moisture is present.
