A mobile earth working machine (10), for example a road milling machine, recycler, or surface miner, includes: a working apparatus (12) for material-removing working of a region of a substrate (U); and an extraction device (40) that is embodied to extract dust-laden air from at least one machine region at at least one extraction location (46), and to exhaust extracted air at a discharge location (50) different from the extraction location (46),
the extraction device (40) comprising a filter apparatus (42) arranged along an operational flow path from the at least one extraction location (46) to the discharge location (50), the filter apparatus (42) encompassing: a filter housing (54); a filter element (52) received in the filter housing (54), the filter element (52) being embodied to remove dust particles from the air flowing through the filter apparatus (42). The filter apparatus (42) comprises a deformation actuator arrangement (44, 76a) that interacts force-transferringly with at least one wall (86) of the filter housing (54) in such a way that by actuation of the deformation actuator arrangement (44, 76a), the at least one wall (86) of the filter housing (54) is deformable orthogonally to its wall surface.
Microtrenching system having a vacuum hose support and method of microtrenching
A microtrenching system having a vacuum hose supported between a vacuum truck and a microtrencher so that the vacuum hose does not contact the roadway surface while cutting the microtrench. A method of using the microtrenching system to cut a microtrench in a roadway and vacuuming spoil from the roadway and microtrench through the supported vacuum hose into a spoil container on the vacuum truck.
Ride-On Roadway Maintenance Machine
A self-propelled roadway crack routing machine has an operator's station located on a front portion of the machine's chassis and including a forward-facing operator's seat. A driven crack routing cutter drum for routing cracks in a roadway surface is mounted on the front portion of the chassis in a location that can be monitored by a forward-facing operator while controlling machine steering and propulsion. The machine includes a steered rear wheel and unsteered front wheels. Machine steering and propulsion and implement operation may all be effected hydraulically.
Roadway access hole drill and a method of microtrenching using the drill to open an access hole in the roadway
A method of cutting a microtrench in which the buried utility is exposed by opening an access hole in a roadway above the buried utility using a roadway access hole drill that rotates and vibrates the drill bit. A roadway access hole drill having a down-the-hole jack-hammer drill bit and a motor to rotate the down-the-hole jack-hammer drill.
Process for cold-in-place recycling using foamed asphalt and lubrication additive
Cold-in-place asphalt recycling is disclosed. A foamed asphalt may be produced by injecting water and optionally compressed air into a hot asphalt stream. A lubricating surfactant may be added to the hot asphalt stream to improve performance. The foamed asphalt may be mixed with reclaimed material to provide a uniformly coated paving material that can compacted to a desired density.
Volumetric concrete mixing system, equipment, and method
A mobile volumetric concrete mixing system includes a suction system that vacuums up trench spoils while a trench is being cut. These trench spoils are then screened on-site for particle size to be reused and mixed with water, cement, and/or other admixtures at an auger mixer to form a backfill mixture. This backfill mixture may then be loaded into a hopper that continuously agitates the mixture so that the mixture does not harden before pouring. The agitating hopper is coupled to a discharge chute of the auger mixer and includes one or more augers disposed at various orientations that the backfill mixture is channeled through. From the agitating hopper, the backfill mixture is channeled to an applicator that moves along the trench and that enables the mixture to be quickly poured into the trench with little clean-up required.
AUTO-CLEANING METHOD FOR COLD PLANER
A cold planer, a method of programming a cleaning program, and a method of cleaning a cold planer are disclosed. The cold planer includes a drum housing, a milling drum, an intermediate stage conveyor, a final stage conveyor, a spray assembly having a plurality of spray banks, and an electronic controller configured to control each spray bank. The method of programming includes selecting one or more spray banks for activation, selecting an intensity for each activated spray bank, and selecting a mode. The method of cleaning includes selecting a cleaning program, activating one or more spray banks, and controlling a duration and a pressure and/or flowrate through each activated spray bank. The disclosed cold planer may be cleaned before and/or after a milling operation to improve operating efficiency and component life.
WALK BEHIND GRINDING TOOL WITH HORIZONTALLY ALIGNED GUIDES AND GRINDING DRUM
Disclosed herein are walk behind grinding tools with horizontally aligned guides and grinding drum. One embodiment relates to a grinding tool with a pair of guides on opposing sides of a blade set of a grinding drum, where the pair of guides is configured to limit a grinding depth of the grinding drum. At least a portion of a guide curvature is generally concentric with a mill curvature, and a guide radius is less than a mill radius. Another embodiment relates to a grinding system including a grinding tool with a vacuum shroud hingedly attached to a front of a main body of a grinding housing, and a vacuum including a vacuum tube in fluid communication with the vacuum shroud. Another embodiment relates to a method of forming a grinding tool.
MILLING MACHINES, SYSTEMS, AND RELATED METHODS
A milling machine includes a frame, a plurality of wheels or track members coupled to the frame, a moldboard movably coupled to the frame, a first rotor, and a second rotor. The first rotor is rotatably coupled to the frame. The second rotor is positioned to the rear of the first rotor and rotatably coupled to the moldboard.
