A paving mixture for application to a surface and a method for the same. The mixture comprises a binding material layer applied to the surface to form a base layer on the surface, and an aggregate material layer applied on top of the binding material layer. The binding material layer can be applied in an amount of at most 0.125 gallons/yd.sup.2. The aggregate material layer contains an asphalt mixture that provides a road surface. The aggregate material layer and the binding material layer can be combined on the surface within 30 seconds of application of the binding material layer. Additionally, multiple paving mixtures may be applied to the surface.

Transparent ceramic composition

Embodiments of transparent ceramic particles are described. A particle includes an outer shell having an outer surface and an inner surface forming a hollow core; and a response unit housed inside the hollow core. The outer shell comprises aluminum oxynitride.

METHOD OF RECYCLING OILY WASTE SO AS TO PROVIDE A MULTI-USE PAVEMENT

A method of forming a multi-use dry pavement from oily waste derived from hydrocarbons has the steps of combining the oily waste with calcium oxide so at as to suspend and homogenize the wastes, adding hydrogen peroxide and water to the oily mixture, and adding ammonium sulfate and water to the mixture. The hydrogen peroxide is mixed with equal amounts of water. The ammonium sulfate is mixed with an equal amount of water. The homogenization process continues until the mixed material forms a granulate. The granulate can be compacted and then used as a pavement.

A process for making a colored composite pavement structure comprising silylated glass aggregate particles and a polymeric binder composition is disclosed. Systems and methods are also disclosed for providing a colored composite material that cures into a pavement structure. In one embodiment, a colorant concentrate is provided by combining an inorganic colorant with a portion of a first component of a polymeric binder composition. The colorant concentrate can then be combined with the first and second components of the polymeric binder composition to provide a colored polymeric binder composition. The colored polymeric binder composition may then be applied to silylated glass aggregate particles to provide a colored composite material that cures into a pavement structure.
