Coating agent, process of forming coating films, primer treatment process, process of repairing concretes, and process of constructing roads

A coating agent is capable of forming a coating film that has enhanced adhesion and adherence to a substrate, and enhanced water resistance as well and composed mainly of an aqueous material. A process of forming a coating agent uses the coating agent, a primer treatment process uses the coating agent, a process of doing repairs to concretes uses the coating agent, and a process of laying down roads uses the coating agent. The coating agent is composed mainly of a polyphenol derivative and containing a polymerizing agent, and has a pH of 9 or less. The polymerizing agent contains a compound having two or more functional groups selected from the group of an amino group and a mercapto group per molecule. In the process of forming a coating film, the coating agent is applied onto a substrate in an alkaline environment having a pH of greater than 9.

COVER FOR ASPHALT INCLUDING ASPHALT EMULSION AND METHOD OF PAVING ASPHALT USING THE SAME

Provided is a cover for asphalt including an asphalt emulsion and a method of paving asphalt using the same, and specifically, to a cover for asphalt, which may facilitate adhesion between an existing asphalt pavement layer and a new asphalt pavement layer and substitute for a tack coat. The cover for asphalt prevents an asphalt emulsion from being damaged by heavy vehicles or construction equipment moving for application of a new pavement layer, and allows omitting separate asphalt emulsion application and curing processes before application of the new asphalt layer.

ASPHALT PAVING AND STRIPPING SYSTEM AND METHOD USING HYDROPHOBIC MICROWAVE ABSORBING MATERIAL
20220341101 · 2022-10-27 ·

Asphalt paving and stripping system and method involves the use of a primer, comprising hydrophobic microwave absorbing material mixed in a hydrophobic liquid, between an asphalt layer and a base layer below. The primer is configured to be deposited on the base layer at room temperature without preheating. Heating the hydrophobic microwave absorbing material, sandwiched between the asphalt and base layers, by microwave energy, allows striping of the asphalt layer from the base layer by a wheel loader.

Millable, recyclable, waterproofing, paving fabric interlayer system and method of use

A millable, recyclable, paving fabric interlayer system for the construction and repair of roadways and other load-bearing surfaces and method of using such a fabric is disclosed. The paving fabric includes thermoplastic materials and is combined with asphalt cement to provide a flexible, stress relieving, waterproofing layer for roadways. Because of the thickness and asphalt cement absorption of the fabric, the system provides a stress absorbing interlayer to resist fatigue and reflective cracking in pavements. The system also acts as an effective moisture barrier due to the enhanced capability to retain sufficient asphalt cement when paved onto a roadway. Such a system has the required strength and elongation to be installed on smooth or milled surfaces yet is easily milled and recycled owing to the uniquely engineered tensile and tear strengths of the fabric.

Paving machine membrane dispenser

An asphalt paving system comprising a plurality of dispensing shafts and a plurality of rolls of pavement reinforcing membrane. The plurality of dispensing shafts are adapted to be mounted on an asphalt paving machine, where at least a portion of at least one dispensing shaft extends from at least one side of the paving machine, and at least a portion of at least one dispensing shaft extends to a front of the paving machine. Each roll of pavement reinforcing membrane is supported by one of the plurality of dispensing shafts. As the asphalt paving machine moves, the plurality of dispensing shafts dispense the pavement reinforcing membrane continuously beneath the asphalt paving machine and the hot asphalt material is dispensed from the hopper on top of the pavement reinforcing membrane beneath the asphalt paving machine.

The primer is configured to be deposited on the base layer at room temperature without preheating. Heating the hydrophobic microwave absorbing material, sandwiched between the asphalt and base layers, by microwave energy, allows for both effective de-icing of the asphalt pavement and for efficient repairs of the pavement, the latter by striping of the asphalt layer from the base layer.

Water-permeable woven geotextile
09777455 · 2017-10-03 · ·

A water-permeable woven geotextile fabric for providing soil reinforcement and/or stabilization, for example as an underlayment in road construction, utilizes a series of round warp fibers, in combination with a series of flat warp fibers, across the width of the fabric to increase water flow while still providing desired filtration. In particular, the round warp fibers form angles that allow greater amounts of water to pass through the fabric. In addition, using both round and flat warp fibers results in increased roughness of the fabric surface, which makes the fabric more resistant to being pulled out of the soil when pulled on. Furthermore, one or more of the round and/or flat warp fibers can include a color selected for high visibility to the human eye in daylight conditions.
