A bridge system is provided that utilizes foundation structures that are formed of the combination of precast and cast-in-place concrete. A method of constructing the combination precast and cast-in-place concrete foundation structures involves receiving at a construction site a precast concrete foundation unit having elongated upright wall members that define a channel therebetween, and multiple upright supports located within the channel; placing the precast concrete foundation unit at a desired use location; delivering concrete into the channel while the precast concrete foundation unit remains at the desired use location; and allowing the concrete to cure-in-place such that the elongated upright wall members are connected to the cured-in-place concrete by reinforcement embedded within both the cured-in-place concrete and the upright wall members. The bridge units may be placed before the pouring step to embed the bottoms of the bridge units in the cast-in-place concrete.

Ultra High Performance Concrete

A precast concrete structure formed of a cementitious mixture is provided, the cementitious mixture comprising a mixture of: (a) cement, (b) silica fume, (c) supplemental material (limestone and/or slag), (d) masonry sand, (e) water and ice (f) plasticizers and (g) workability admixtures. The result is an improved concrete for use in the formation of long span bridge elements that are simple and safe to manufacture and having improved properties. The instant abstract is neither intended to define the invention disclosed in this specification nor intended to limit the scope of the invention in any way.

Adjustable forms for poured concrete structures and related systems and methods

An apparatus for adjusting a haunch height and related systems and methods includes a support angle. The support angle includes first and second flanges, and a surface of the first flange includes a hole. The apparatus also includes a coil rod and a rotatable nut.

An automated concrete bridge paver with an ability to provide effective control of a concrete paver by a remotely locatable concrete bridge paver operator, which includes a fixed operator control station and a mobile wireless remote operator control station which can be used when the remotely locatable concrete bridge paver operator leaves the operator control station. Mobile wireless remote operator control station includes a video screen which can display live video images from a plurality of remote wireless camera and sensor pods, which can be fixed on the paver or moved about the paver on an articulated arm, with or without a human basket.

Prestressed bailey beam for reinforcement and construction method therefor

A Bailey beam for reinforcement is composed of Bailey panels, stiffening rods, bolts, anchor bolts, a prestressing tendon and anchorages. The components of the Bailey beam are all prefabricated in a factory, and are assembled and hoisted on site. The prestressing tendon is arranged in a lower chord of the Bailey beam, and is anchored to the stiffening rods at both ends. The Bailey beam slides towards both ends during prestress tensioning. In this case, the Bailey beam is lifted as a whole, and the prestressing force is applied to a lower edge of the Bailey beam, resulting in an inverted arch of structure, closing up of cracks and a decrease in downward deflection. After the completion of the prestress tensioning, sealing is performed by fixing fillers, a sealing steel plate and injecting solidifiable materials.

Method for batch casting high-fluidity high-performance concrete and low-fluidity high-performance concrete

A method of batch-casting high-fluidity high performance concrete and low-fluidity high performance concrete, wherein the method is capable of batch-casting high-fluidity high performance concrete for forming a girder portion of a bridge and low-fluidity high performance concrete for forming a deck plate portion of the bridge by using a concrete casting apparatus. Accordingly, the construction cost can be reduced and the construction period can be shortened. In addition, because a cold joint does not occur, durability can be improved, and thus the life of the bridge can be increased.

Method for displacing a ceiling formwork, collision protection element, and ceiling formwork, supporting device and incremental launching device comprising such a collision protection element
11788307 · 2023-10-17 · ·

A method for displacing a ceiling formwork for a nearest concreting section, wherein first and second supporting devices for supporting the ceiling formwork are arranged below the nearest concreting section. Said supporting devices each have a shuttering position and a stripping position, wherein the ceiling formwork is raised to a concreting level in the shuttering position and lowered relative to the concreting level in the stripping position. The first supporting device is moved into the stripping position and the second supporting device is moved into the shuttering position, and a collision protection element is arranged between the second supporting device and an end face of the ceiling formwork when the end face of the ceiling formwork strikes the second supporting device after passing over the first supporting device, so the collision protection element forms a flank rising in the displacement direction for guiding the ceiling formwork in the displacement direction.

COMPOSITE BOX GIRDER STRUCTURE AND CONSTRUCTION METHOD THEREFOR
20230349113 · 2023-11-02 · ·

Disclosed are a composite box girder structure and a construction method therefor. The composite box girder structure includes a box enclosure and an inner core, where the inner core includes a thin-walled steel shell, shear connectors, and diaphragms, and the thin-walled steel shell is attached and fixed to an interior of the box enclosure by means of the shear connectors. In the present disclosure, the inner core and the box enclosure of the composite box girder structure jointly load force, such that effectiveness of the structure in resisting a use load can be improved. The inner core is directly used as an internal template of UHPC, such that rapid bridge construction can be achieved. Further, not only defects of conventional pouring can be overcome, but problems of excessive lateral local stress, overall stability, cross-section distortion and shear bearing capacity of web plates can be solved.
