Dual arm fortified barrier assembly
A dual arm barrier assembly comprising spaced-apart stanchions and a pair of barrier arms pivotally connected to a first stanchion for movement between closed and open positions. The barrier arms have distal end portions immediately adjacent to and out of engagement with the second stanchion when in the closed position during normal operation and when the vehicle is out of engagement with the barrier arms. The first barrier arm in the closed position is at a height corresponding to vehicle's windshield, and the second barrier arm in the closed position is below the first barrier arm and is at a height corresponding approximately to the vehicle's body or frame. The second stanchion engages the barrier arms only when the vehicle presses against barrier arms, thereby securely retaining the barrier arms in the closed position.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR COLLISION AVOIDANCE ON A HIGHWAY
Methods and systems for collision avoidance are provided. The method includes detecting, a vehicle, with one or more sensors, that is traveling on a road and determining that the vehicle is traveling in the wrong direction on the road. The method includes creating information, using data from the one or more sensors, that describes the vehicle, responsive to the determination and transmitting the information to a communicating device that is capable of communicating a message based on the information to inform other vehicles on the road that the vehicle is approaching the other vehicles on the road.
Counterbalanced inground traffic control device
A traffic control device, for use with a roadway receiving vehicles travelling longitudinally along the roadway, includes a housing mounted transversely across the roadway with an upper supporting surface that supports the vehicles rolling over the housing. A frame comprised of a shaft supporting tire puncturing members thereon is rotatable within the housing between stored and working positions of the tire puncturing members relative to the upper supporting surface of the housing. Offset counterweights are coupled to the frame to bias the tire puncture members towards the working position. An upper stop member on the housing, formed of resilient material, is engaged by the frame in the working position and is adjustable in height to control position of the tire puncturing members in the working position.

Roadway Safety System
A safety system to prevent a wrong-way vehicle from entering a roadway by driving onto an exit ramp in the wrong direction. A detection system monitors and detects the wrong-way vehicle as soon as it enters the exit ramp in the wrong direction. Upon detecting a wrong-way vehicle, the roadway safety system remotely sends a signal to turn off the motor of the wrong-way vehicle. The system may also record the vehicle's identification and communicate it to a command center to determine the mobile phone number of the owner/driver and call the driver to alert them that they are driving the wrong-way. Alternatively, a series of one or more penetrable and/or impenetrable barriers could be deployed to stop the wrong-way vehicle. The safety system may further include a communications system to communicate to a central office to initiate other alarms and control traffic on the roadway in response to detecting a wrong-way vehicle.
