20220372743 · 2022-11-24 ·

Disclosed in the present application is a system for a storm water and traffic collector box culvert. The system may comprise a plurality of reinforced slabs with an upper slab that may be configured as a reinforced surface to collect storm water runoff. The plurality of slabs may be connected by a plurality of attachment mechanisms. Accordingly, the present system is directed to an environmentally friendly culvert design that can minimize the magnitude of earthworks required by traditional drainage systems while also providing increased drainage capabilities.

Structures and methods for controlling road temperature over an underpass space are disclosed, including a structure comprising: footings underlying the road supporting a support assembly comprising: an inner shell; a plurality of beams surmounting the inner shell; an insulating material for thermally isolating the road and the remainder of the support assembly from the underpass space; an outer shell; a temperature control assembly; temperature sensors disposed in the road and the support assembly; and a computer processor configured to receive temperature and weather forecast data; predict changes to the temperature of the support assembly and the road based on the temperature and forecast data; and control the application or removal of heat to the support assembly, based on the predicted changes to the temperature of the support assembly and the road, resulting in the road maintaining a temperature within a predetermined range.

Method for renovating, repairing, reinforcing, protecting or newly creating corrugated metal-sheet tunnels, and corrugated metal-sheet tunnels of this type

A process is used for the renovation or new construction of corrugated sheet metal tunnels. The corrugated sheets are sandblasted for cleaning and room cleaning. Then anchoring elements are welded to the rough side of the sheets. A layer of shotcrete is applied to this roughened side of the sheets to obtain a smooth coating over the crests and valleys of the sheets. A reinforcement net is placed on this layer and a second layer of shotcrete or mortar is applied to cover the reinforcement net. The top layer can be smoothed. The subsequent corrugated sheet metal tunnel includes corrugated sheets covering the tunnel walls and ceilings with the course direction of their wave crests and valleys parallel to the circumferential direction of the tunnel profile. The corrugated sheets on the inside and/or outside of the tunnel are reinforced with an applied reinforced concrete layer.

Technologies are described for a pipe cover and method of covering a pipe. The pipe cover comprises a cover having a first side, top, second side and an open bottom and is configured to receive an end portion of a pipe into the open bottom and between the first and second side. The first side, top, and second side are configured to extend beyond a terminal end of the pipe to be covered. A first clamping mechanism is on the first side and a second clamping mechanism is on the second side, configured and disposed to clamp the cover onto the end portion of the pipe to be covered and cover the terminal end of the pipe.

Precast concrete bridge unit and headwall assembly and method of production

A precast concrete bridge and headwall assembly includes a precast concrete bridge unit including a top wall connecting opposite side walls, and a precast concrete headwall having a bottom surface engaged on the top wall of the bridge unit and a series of earth anchors at laterally spaced intervals between the side walls. The earth anchors include a body member extending outward from the headwall to the top wall, and a foot member extending laterally outward from the body member engaged on the top wall and including an upper surface generally parallel to the top wall.

Drainage channel with a drainage body and a cover

A stable and variable design of a drainage structure includes a drainage body (11) and a cover (20). The cover (20) has engagement devices (13, 13′; 14, 14′; 23, 23′) when seen in a longitudinal direction of the drainage body (11), whereby the cover connects upper edges (12, 12′) of the drainage body (11) to one another transversely to the longitudinal direction in a tension-resistant manner over the entire length of the drainage body. In order to allow the use of different covers (20) for different loads, for example while using the same drainage body (11), two types of engagement devices (13, 13′; 14, 14′) are provided on the drainage body.

A box culvert assembly and method of forming a box culvert assembly. The boxes forming the assembly comprise portions configured to allow pivoted assembly of one box into another, while reducing the likelihood of high stress or fracture. The box assembly further allows for a generally tight seal between the boxes.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR REHABILITATING A HOST PIPE
20220228357 · 2022-07-21 ·

A system for in situ rehabilitation of a corrugated culvert or other conduit includes a support frame coupled to an inner surface of the culvert. The support frame provides attachment points that are spaced away from the inner surface of the culvert. An assembly of interconnected longitudinal planks is coupled to the support frame and forms a liner within the culvert. Each longitudinal plank has an inwardly facing surface that forms a portion of an inner surface of the liner and an outwardly facing surface opposite the inwardly facing surface. At least one longitudinal protrusion extends away from the outwardly facing surface of each longitudinal plank. A layer of a cured cementitious grout material fills or substantially fills a space between the inner surface of the host pipe and the plurality of interconnected planks, and the at least one longitudinal protrusion of each longitudinal plank is embedded within the cured cementitious grout material.
