An apparatus for collecting thorns, spines, prickles, seeds, burrs, and the like from the ground. Embodiments of the present disclosure include a roller for picking up thorns, spines, prickles, seeds, burrs, and the like from the ground, a scraper to remove the picked-up objects from the roller, and a collector tray to catch and collect the removed objects. In embodiments, the roller comprises a cylindrical foam roller. In embodiments, the scraper comprises a mesh screen rolled into a cylinder-like form and held adjacent to or against the roller. Objects that are removed from the roller may be ejected and/or fall into the collector tray for subsequent disposal.

A sweeper including a mat for sweeping a ground surface by moving the mat over the ground surface in a direction of travel substantially transverse to a leading edge of the mat, the mat having at least one slot extending therethrough and disposed transversely relative to the direction of travel whereby in use of the mat debris can pass through the slot over a trailing edge of the slot to collect on an upper surface of the mat, wherein the sweeper includes a cover over the mat for trapping debris on said upper surface of the mat.

An apparatus for sweeping a ground surface, comprises: a panel member configured to be moved across a ground surface to sweep the ground surface, the panel member having an underside that, in use, faces the ground surface to be swept, an upper side that provides a collection surface for collecting debris swept from the ground surface, and one or more openings that extend between the underside and the upper side for conveying debris from the ground surface to the collection surface on the upper side of the panel member; and a debris retaining assembly configured to be mounted on the panel member for trapping the debris conveyed to the collection surface on the upper side of the panel member. The debris retaining assembly comprises a frame and a flexible cover supported spaced above the collection surface by the frame when the assembly is mounted on the panel member.

The present disclosure may provide a device for automatically collecting and transporting waste on the road that automates the collection of trash and waste abandoned on the road through the convergence technology of software and hardware to improve the speed of collection of large trash or waste, removes the causes and risks of accidents that may occur during manual collection work on existing roads, and does not require a separate operator to operate the collection mechanism, thereby reducing labor costs.
