CONTAINMENT BOOM, SYSTEM, AND METHOD FOR CONFINING AN OIL SPILL
A containment boom is for confining an oil spill within a restricted area on a water surface, wherein the containment boom has an openable link and connection means for connecting the containment boom at each side of the link to separate towing vessels. A system is for confining an oil spill having the containment boom and a storage means for storing the containment boom, wherein the storage means is configured to be situated at the perimeter of an offshore structure above the water surface, and wherein the lower part of the storage means is configured to be able to be opened and release the containment boom into the water upon deployment of the system. An offshore structure includes the system. A method is for confining an oil spill using the system.
Oil skimmer and method of use
The present invention provides an apparatus for removing oil or other pollutants from the surface of water and an improved method of removing oil or other pollutants from the surface of a body of water, comprising a platform having a left side wall, a right side wall, a rear wall, a front opening, a floor, and a bottom, one or more ballasts which adjust the platform floor relative to a level of oil on the water surface, wherein the oil flows from the front opening across the floor to the rear wall, a rear location near the rear wall to collect the oil from the platform floor; and a pump connected to the rear location that removes the oil from the rear location to a storage area which does not affect the ballast of the platform. The skimmer vessel can work stationary in the water, and does not require a propellor means, as the oil will continue to flow into the skimmer as the oil is pumped out of the rear by the gravity flow to the rear of the vessel.

EQUIPMENT, SYSTEMS AND VESSELS, FOR THE EFFECTIVE CLEANUP AND RECOVERY OF A BROAD RANGE OF FLOATING CONTAMINANTS
A system for removing contaminants from a body of water, may include a vessel, having contaminant cleanup and recovery equipment that may have at least one intake port capable of removing floating contaminants from the body of water to be transported to the recovery vessel. The system may further include a first towboat and a second towboat. The system may also include a first containment boom capable of being connected to the first tow boat and to a starboard side of a vessel. The system may also include a second containment boom capable of being connected to the second tow boat and a port side of the vessel, such that during operation the first and second towboats extend out from the vessel such that the first and second containment booms gather the floating contaminants from the body of water and channel them to the at least one intake port.
Biochar containment boom and blanket
A water remediation device is disclosed, including a water-permeable outer fabric defining a cavity therein, a buoyant core disposed within the cavity, and a mass of water remediation media including biochar disposed between the buoyant core and the water-permeable outer fabric. The remediation media is configured to reduce a quantity of a polyfluoroalkyl substance present in a sample of contaminated water when the remediation device is placed in the sample of contaminated water. The device may be formed into an elongated boom that is configured to float on or partially-submerge in water. Alternatively, the device may be formed of a pad or blanket that may be entirely submerged in water during use.
Onboard oil containment system
An oil containment system aboard a vessel includes a pneumatic system to provide power to a winch and reel assembly containing boom whereby the pneumatic supply is capable of simultaneously powering the winch-reel assembly for boom deployment through inflatable gas fed to a pneumatic motor while also inflating the boom. The inflation of the boom is accomplished by diverting, all or any portion thereof, the inflatable gas from a pneumatic supply through a hose that runs concurrently on the outside of the boom. The pneumatic supply originates from a single pneumatic system powering both the winch and reel assembly as well as associated brake and feeding inflatable gas pressure to the inflation hose running concurrently with the boom. The system can be utilized to confine a discharge of a floating material such as hydrocarbons floating on the surface from a vessel or structure.
Garbage Collection Apparatus
Garbage collection apparatus for the collection of plastic from a surface of a waterbody with a waterflow. The garbage collection apparatus comprises a base and a horizontal beam mounted pivotably around a vertical axis on the base. Said horizontal beam is mounted displaceably in vertical direction on the base, where said horizontal beam on an underside comprises a collection device for collecting plastic floating on the surface of the waterbody. The collection device extends vertically away from the horizontal beam and extends horizontally in a direction opposite the direction of the water flow in the waterbody, which collection device comprises one of either bars or mesh, where said garbage collection apparatus comprises a first actuator for displacing the horizontal beam in or into vertical direction and where said collection device is connected rotatably to the horizontal beam and where the rotation axis of the collection device relative to the beam is parallel to a main axis of the horizontal beam and where the garbage collection apparatus comprises a controller. Method for removing plastic from the surface of a waterbody with a water flow, with a garbage collection apparatus.
SUBSEA BOOMING SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DEPLOYING A SUBSEA BOOMING SYSTEM
A subsea blooming system and method of deploying a subsea blooming system includes a first buoyant module, a first line extending downwardly from the first buoyant module, a first ballast module affixed adjacent an end of the first line, at least one boom translatably connected to the first line, and a variable buoyant module cooperative with the boom. The first buoyant module is positively and non-variably buoyant. The first ballast module is negatively and non-variably buoyant. The boom includes a plurality of booms that are connected in end-to-end relationship in a desired array.
