REEF AND SHORELINE RESTORATION, RETENTION, AND PROTECTION PASSIVE, NON-FERROUS, NON-REACTIVE PRECAST SOLUTION
20230039419 · 2023-02-09 ·

A non-ferrous non-reactive precast shoreline restoration and retention solution may include at least one generally hexagonal structure including a body having a first end opposite a second end. The body may define a passage from the first end to the second end and at least one aperture defined in the side or sides of the body. The at least one aperture may be constructed and arranged to allow fluid flow through the passage of the at least one generally hexagonal structure. In this way, at least one or a plurality of non-ferrous non-reactive precast shoreline restoration solution may reduce erosion of shoreline and reef by functioning as a wave break in an aquatic operating environment.

INTERLOCKING MODULAR SMART SEAWALL DIVERSION AND RECREATION SYSTEM AND METHOD OF INSTALLATION
20230018574 · 2023-01-19 ·

An interlocking modular smart seawall diversion and recreation system provides step-shaped diverter sections arranged side-by-side along a shoreline. The diverter sections slope from a base end up towards an upper end. To break kinetic energy of waves, and divert waves, the diverter sections form steps with curved risers and horizontal treads. The system forms a diversion path for the waves that reach the upper end of the modular walls and recirculate the wave energy back to divertor chamber and natural environment. Foundation pilings project into the ground and extend up to support the wall sections. The bottom end of foundation pilings terminates at sheared attachments having a tapered cross section and an edge for securely anchoring into the ground. A platform atop the diverter sections provides a pathway; a lighted platform for recreational activities; and transparent skylight portals for observing aquatic wildlife in water below and creating an indigenous ecosystem.

Integrating articulated concrete blocks with gabion/reno cages

An articulated concrete block system that includes a gabion mattress drainage layer. The two major components of the system reduce the effects of erosion and increase the hydraulic stability in areas that experience high velocity water flows, hydraulic jumps, and will dissipate wave energy action for shoreline and coastal erosion. Geosynthetics are first placed on the ground surface, followed by a gabion mattress drainage layer, a smaller aggregate layer for fine grading, another optional geosynthetic layer, and then the articulated concrete blocks overlie the system.

A revetment block includes a top surface, a bottom surface, a first pair of parallel, opposing sidewalls extending between the top surface and the bottom surface, and a second pair of parallel, opposing sidewalls extending between the top surface and the bottom surface and each extending between a first sidewall of the first pair of parallel and a second sidewall of the first pair of parallel, opposing sidewalls. The revetment block further includes a horizontal duct extending from the first sidewall to the second sidewall, wherein the horizontal duct is parallel with the bottom surface. The top surface has a non-parallel relationship with the bottom surface, wherein the top surface includes a leveling pad adjacent the first sidewall. The leveling pad is configured to cause a second horizontal duct of a second revetment block stacked on the top surface to be parallel with the first horizontal duct.

A cellular structure includes a plurality of interconnected cells of fabric material. The cells are at least partially filled with a composite fill material that includes a particulate material and a bonding agent. A cellular unit made up of a plurality of the interconnected cells may have an associated load-bearing frame to enable lifting and/or transportation of the structure. The fill material is preferably resilient.
