Water flow control device
A water flow control device is provided that opens to allow water to leave a basin and pour into another pool of water. The water flow control device closes when the level in the pool of water is such that an influx of water could be returned to the basin. The water flow control device has a buoyancy apparatus that opens and closes the water flow control device based upon the level in the pool of water. The water flow control device also has a conveyance channel apparatus that directs water from the basin through the water flow control device in the event the buoyancy apparatus provides an opening to do so.
Flood defence system with low environmental impact
A flood barrier for protecting the environment having a venturi type effect pumping means not requiring external power, the flood barrier comprising a wall and a pump for drawing water across the barrier from a first side to a second side. The wall configured to provide a barrier preventing movement of water from the first, drain, side to the second, tributary, side, of that wall. The barrier further comprising a pipe traversing the wall for transferring water between the two sides of the wall the pipe being terminated in the first side of the wall at a venturi effect pump, the pump being feedable with water from the drain through a conduit inlet so as to create suction in the pipe for drawing water through the pipe from the second side of the wall to drain water from the second to the first side of the wall.
APPARATUS FOR FLOOD CONTROL
A dynamic fluid flow control structure is provided that allows precise control over fluid flow using a series of two or more orifices, at least one of which may be reconfigured to change its flow characteristics. A flood control system and a flood control process are provided that emulate a preset discharge profile over time. Some versions of the structure, process, and system can be used to provide controlled storm discharge patterns in a developed area that emulate the natural pre-development discharge patterns.
FLUID HANDLING DEVICE AND FLUID HANDLING SYSTEM INCLUDING THE SAME
An object is to provide a fluid handling device which can be easily manufactured and which makes it possible for a valve to be easily opened and closed with a small force. A fluid handling device for achieving the above object includes a first region; a second region; and a valve disposed between the first region and the second region, in which the valve includes: a groove-shaped valve seat disposed in a board, and a flexible layer covering the groove-shaped valve seat, and a surface of the flexible layer facing the groove-shaped valve seat is a flat surface, a protrusion is disposed on a side of the flexible layer opposite to the groove-shaped valve seat and at a position corresponding to the groove-shaped valve seat.

Bollard wall gate system
A bollard wall gate system including a lockable access door enclosing the gate which is easy-to-operate and resistant to tampering. The bollard wall gate system generally includes one or more bollard panels which form a continuous bollard wall. Each of the bollard panels includes a passageway which may be selectively opened or closed by use of a gate. The gate includes a plurality of gate members which may be raised to open the gate or lowered to close the gate. The bollard panels include an enclosure through which the gate extends. A locking device may be utilized to selectively lock the gate in its opened or closed position, with the locking device being connected to the gate within the enclosure so as to prevent tampering or unauthorized access.

WATER CONTROL GATE ABUTMENT AIR VENT
The present invention discloses improved means of venting bottom hinged water control gates through the abutments over a wide range of tailwater elevations while minimizing the hazard of trapping water born debris in the abutment vents. A single pipe, or a plurality of pipes, may be provided. Check valves may be provided to exclude water borne trash.

WATER CONTROL SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR WATER MANAGEMENT
An automated water control device comprises a rotatable housing that can be incrementally positioned to control flow of water over an upper or weir edge of the housing. The device is installed at a control point in an impoundment area, such as a settling pond. The housing is selectively rotated to raise and lower the height of the weir edge to a target gate height. Automatic control is provided for operation of the device by a controller communicating with an actuator. A system of the invention includes one or more water control devices and the controller. A method of the invention includes controlling flow of water from an impounded water source by use of the automated water control device. Manual or semi-automated embodiments are also disclosed.
