Molded concrete block having visually enhanced contrasting surface sections; methods, and use
According to the present disclosure, methods and techniques for generating preferred concrete block products are provided. The methods and techniques involve providing addition of color to selected section within the blocks (1), as described herein, to generate enhancement effects. Typical applications involve spray applications for color pigment to visually distinct sections of the block (1) on one or more decorative surfaces.
BUILDING BLOCK, SYSTEM AND METHODS
Building blocks include a tongue and groove on each block that allow the blocks to be placed in a way that interlocks the tongue and groove of one block with the corresponding groove and tongue, respectively, of another block facing the opposite direction. In a first embodiment, the same building block that has a decorative front face is used for both sides of the wall, resulting in a wall with opposed finished surfaces. In a second embodiment, a first plurality of blocks that have a decorative front face are used for one side of the wall, while a second plurality of blocks that have a thicker and non-decorative face are used for the other side of the wall, with the first and second plurality of blocks interlocking back-to-back via their respective tongues and grooves. Both types of blocks can be made using the same concrete form.
EROSION CONTROL APPARATUS
The present invention relates to an erosion control apparatus and methods of using and installing the apparatus. The apparatus is constructed to prevent erosion of soil during typical weather or tidal conditions and adverse weather events. The apparatus can include a plurality of anchored rolls and soil lifts operative to stabilize the shoreline.
Geotextile-based structure for vegetative growth enhancement and erosion resistance
This application discloses a geotextile-based structure for soil stabilization, erosion control, and vegetation-growth enhancement that is made from a cage having a hollow interior lined with a geotextile fabric designed to retain fine materials, which cage is attached to a geotextile mat capable of supporting vegetation.
IMPROVEMENTS IN AND RELATING TO EROSION PREVENTION
An erosion prevention system, a cell assembly and a kit of parts for such a system, and methods of making and installing such an erosion prevention system is disclosed. A cell assembly (2501) may comprise a plurality of cells (2520a, 2520b, 2520c) for containment of rock pieces, each cell having a bottom, sides/ends and a top each formed from wire mesh. A continuous length of wire mesh may wrap around and defines the upper, lower (2502) and end faces (2503a, 2503b) of the cell assembly (2501), the ends of the length being fastened together at an overlapping join positioned on the upper and/or end of the cell assembly. The continuous length of chain-link wire mesh may extend beyond at least one side face (2503d) of the cell assembly, thereby being configured to overlap at least a portion of the lower, upper and end faces of a corresponding second cell assembly when positioned side by side. The wire mesh may be chain-link wire mesh.
Methods, Systems, and Kits for Building Interlocking Seawalls
This disclosure provides methods, systems, and kits for building seawalls using mechanically interlocking blocks. The interlocking blocks have interiors that can be filled with sand, gravel, or cementitious material after formation of a wall. The interlocking blocks that can be connected on any side to form a structure, wall, foundation, floor, building, flotation device, gardening structure, or toy. The interlocking blocks typically comprise center openings and connecting openings on each side and can be connected with hardware through the connecting openings. The center openings allow for materials such as pipes, wires, conduit, and rebar to pass through interlocked blocks. Connected blocks can also be filled with fortifying material to strengthen the structure. Sides of connected blocks can be covered with faceplates to direct flow of fortifying material and aid in the creation of desired configurations. Also provided are connectors for connecting sides of the interlocking blocks.
TRIANGLE UNIT ASSEMBLY BLOCK AND METHOD USING SAME OF BUILDING LANDSLIDE PREVENTING DRAINING RETAINING WALL
A triangle unit assembly block comprises a body portion comprising mutually facing first and second side surfaces and mutually facing third and fourth side surfaces between a upper surface and a lower surface; a first fastening protrusion formed on the first side surface of the body portion; a second fastening protrusion formed on the second side surface of the body portion; a first fastening groove formed on the third side surface of the body portion; and a second fastening groove formed on the fourth side surface of the body portion, wherein the first and second fastening protrusions are disposed to correspond to each other and protrude in mutually opposite directions, and the first and second fastening grooves are disposed to be misaligned with one another to be concave in mutually facing directions.
Sediment control system
A sediment control system including a first barrier element. The first barrier element has a first end, a second end, a front side, a back side, a bottom side and a top side. The sediment control system also having a second barrier element. The second barrier element has a first end, a second end, a front side, a back side, a bottom side and a top side. The first end of the first barrier element cooperating with the first end of the second barrier element to prevent the separation of the first and second barrier elements. A barrier includes a first end and a second end wherein the second end is disposed a certain length from the first end. The barrier element also has a front side and a back side wherein the back side is disposed a total depth from the front side. The barrier element further includes a bottom side and a top side wherein the top side is disposed a certain height from the bottom side. The barrier element has a generally triangular cross-sectional shape perpendicular to the length of the barrier element. A method of controlling soil from a disturbed area from being transported to undesired locations using the sediment control system.
RECYCLED PLASTIC PRODUCTS AND METHODS
A method of making a recycled plastic product includes collecting recyclable plastic materials. The recyclable plastic materials are separated into a plurality of single grade batches of recyclable plastic materials. Each single grade batch is ground into a single grade group of recyclable plastic chips. A single grade portion is weighed out from each single grade group of chips. Each single grade portion is equal in weight within a range of plus or minus 15 percent. Each single grade portion is mixed together to form a multiple grade mixture of recyclable plastic chips. The multiple grade mixture is heated to form a multiple grade blend of molten recyclable plastic. The multiple grade blend is cooled into a form of a solid recycled plastic product. The recycled plastic product comprises multiple grades of recyclable plastic and a volume large enough to encompass a 1.0-inch diameter sphere.
