MULTI-AXIAL GRID OR MESH STRUCTURES WITH HIGH ASPECT RATIO RIBS
20220112666 · 2022-04-14 · ·

A multi-axial geogrid possesses a series of interconnected strands or ribs that are arranged along at least two different axes within the plane of the structure. The strands or ribs have an aspect ratio, defined as the ratio of the thickness to width, of greater than 1.0, thickness being the direction normal to the plane of the structure. The geogrid can be manufactured by modifying the process parameters in order to create high aspect ratio ribs, using any of the various known methods for producing geogrids. A reinforced civil engineering structure, and method therefor, is formed by embedding in soil one or more horizontal layers of geogrid having high aspect ratio ribs. The reinforced structure shows improved rutting performance when subjected to vehicular traffic.

A cementitious composite for in-situ hydration includes a first layer, a second layer, a cementitious mixture including cementitious material positioned between the first layer and the second layer, and a structure layer positioned between the first layer and the second layer. The cementitious mixture comprises a majority of a volume between the first layer and the second layer.

Construction method for ecologically protecting expansive soil slope by combining phosphogypsum with microbial mineralization

The present invention provides a construction method for ecologically protecting an expansive soil slope by combining phosphogypsum with microbial mineralization. The method includes: (1) placing Bacillus pasteurii in a culture medium to prepare a microbial solution, and mixing urea, calcium chloride and water to prepare a cementing solution; (2) preparing a mixture with phosphogypsum fly ash and soil; mixing the mixture, the microbial solution and water well, and adding the cementing solution and water to prepare an improving mixture slurry; and (3) spraying the improving mixture slurry to a face of the slope by wet spraying, and covering with a non-woven fabric by tying and fixing.

Fiber elements for soil stabilization

The fiber elements for soil stabilization include a combination of rigid and flexible fibers that are adapted to be added to soil in order to stabilize the soil to improve the geotechnical characteristics thereof. Each fiber element includes a rigid fiber having opposed first and second ends, at least the first end defining a first ring. A plurality of flexible fibers are attached to the first ring. When mixed with soil, the rigid fibers provide stiffness to the soil mass, and the flexible fibers provide deformability. For purposes of packaging, prior to addition to soil, the plurality of flexible fibers may be at least partially secured to one another by a water soluble material, such as a water soluble glue, water soluble thread or the like. A plurality of the fiber elements may be secured to one another by the water soluble material, forming a fiber module.

A sack for realising civil engineering works, including a sack structure with two main faces defined by two respective equal main areas of cloth that are joined over most of their periphery. The main areas of cloth define an opening for introducing filling material into the sack structure when in use. The sack includes at least one area of protective cloth whose resistance characteristics differ from the main areas of cloth. The area of protective cloth is fastened to the outside of the sack structure so as to substantially cover a single main face thereof.
