SWIVEL JOINT FOR CONSTRUCTION MACHINE

A swivel joint for a construction machine can detect a slewing angle of an upper slewing body and has a high maintainability. The swivel joint includes a body, a stem, a lower cover, and a sensor unit. The sensor unit includes: a rotation angle sensor fixedly attached to an upper end of the stem; and a rod having a distal end provided with a detection target to be detected by the rotation angle sensor and a proximal end fastened to the lower cover. The stem is formed with: a rod insertion hole for receiving the rod to be inserted therethrough; and a stem-side drain oil passage for allowing a drain oil to pass therethrough.

A system and method for indicating to an operator a forward direction of travel of a machine having a ground-engaging traveling device, a superstructure rotatably mounted to the traveling device and an operator station defining an operator point of view are provided. The system includes a system controller, a rotation-sensing system connected to the system controller for determining a rotational relationship of the superstructure with respect to the traveling device, and a singaler mounted to the operator station and connected to the system controller for indicating to the operator the forward direction of travel of the machine in accordance with the operator point of view. The method includes receiving a rotational relationship of the superstructure with respect to the traveling device, and indicating to the operator the forward travel direction of the machine in accordance with the operator point of view.

CAB AND WORK VEHICLE

A cab includes: a pillar member; a beam member; and a rib member. The pillar member extends in an up-down direction. The beam member extends in a left-right direction. The beam member is connected to an upper end of the pillar member. The rib member is provided at a corner portion where the pillar member and the beam member intersect with each other. The rib member is connected to the pillar member and the beam member. The rib member is embedded in at least one of the pillar member and the beam member.

WORK VEHICLE

A hydraulic excavator as a work vehicle includes: a revolving frame; and a cab. The cab includes: a floor member that faces the revolving frame, with a gap therebetween; a support base provided on the floor member and supporting an operator's seat; a pillar member connected to a left end of the floor member; and a reinforcing member connected to the pillar member and the support base. The hydraulic excavator further includes a restriction member provided in the gap and protruding from the floor member toward the revolving frame. The restriction member has a protrusion length shorter than a length of the gap in an up-down direction, and is provided below the support base.
