Systems and methods for preventing freeze damage to heating system pipes are provided. In some embodiments, systems for preventing freeze damage to heating system pipes that carry a liquid used to heat a heated space and that are exposed to freezing temperatures outside of the heated space are provided, the systems comprising: a hardware controller that causes the liquid to be circulated through the heating system pipes irrespective of the air temperature in the heated space.

At least partially heatable line-connector for a heatable media line, and an assembled media line comprising such a line-connector

An at least partially heatable line-connector for a media line which can be heated, the line-connector at least partially including a thermally-conductive or thermally-conducting material, with a heating system and/or heating elements being associated outside the body of the line-connector. An assembled media line with at least one heatable media line is provided with at least one such at least partially heatable line-connector.

METHOD OF PREDICTING THE RISK OF A LIQUID FREEZING
20220309907 · 2022-09-29 ·

A prediction method for predicting freezing of a liquid flowing in a pipe of a liquid meter includes steps of: acquiring measurements of air temperature in the liquid meter; evaluating an air temperature prediction parameter and then, from the air temperature prediction parameter, evaluating a liquid temperature prediction parameter; using the liquid temperature prediction parameter to estimate a duration-to-freezing between a present instant and an instant at which the liquid risks freezing; and generating an alarm if the duration-to-freezing is less than a predetermined time threshold.

Method for detecting pipe burst in water distribution systems based on pressure disturbance extraction

The present invention introduced a method for detecting pipe bursts in water distribution systems based on pressure disturbance extraction, including following steps: (1) collecting and pre-processing monitored pressure data, and establishing a matrix of monitored pressures; (2) analyzing time-domain and frequency-domain features of the matrix of monitored pressures by Fourier transform, extracting disturbances, and generating pressure disturbances matrices; (3) identifying outliers in the pressure disturbances matrices by isolation forest algorithm; and (4) further identifying detected outliers by calculating and qualitative index A and quantitative index B and outputting a result of pipe burst detection. Compared with previous methods, the pipe burst detection method introduced in the present invention is accurate and reliable, and is more applicable to large-scale complex water distribution systems.

CONTROL SYSTEM FOR ONE OR MORE ABLUTIONARY DEVICES

A control system for one or more ablutionary devices includes a valve having one or valve members each arranged to receive a respective water supply via one or more supply inlets, and an output for suppling output water to the one or more ablutionary devices downstream of the valve, the one or more valve members being arranged to control the flow of water between the one or more supply inlets and the output; one or more temperature sensors arranged to generate a respective temperature signal indicative of the temperature of any one or more of the water supply upstream of any one or more of the valve members, and the output water downstream of the one or more valve members; and a controller in communication with the one or more temperature sensors. The controller is configured to obtain one or more temperature signals from the one or more temperature sensors when the one or more ablutionary devices are not in use and to generate an indicator signal based on a comparison of the one or more temperature signals to one or more thresholds.

FREEZELESS OUTDOOR SHOWER

A freezeless outdoor shower assembly that is self-draining to prevent freezing and damage to the assembly when the assembly is exposed to cold and freezing weather. The assembly includes a riser coupled to a self-draining riser coupler assembly which drains water from the assembly when water from a water source it turned off. Preferably the freezeless outdoor shower assembled is coupled to an outdoor freezeless hydrant providing hot and cold water.
