Method and device for expanding a metal element
A method of expanding an elongated and at least regionally planar metal element that has two respective marginal regions oppositely disposed and extending in a longitudinal direction and a central region arranged therebetween and including cuts, the marginal regions of the metal element are moved apart transversely to the longitudinal direction and in parallel with a planar extent of the metal element such that connection portions of the central region formed by the cuts and connecting the two respective marginal regions to one another are folded, the method includes displacing the two respective marginal regions with respect to one another transversely to the planar extent of the metal element to form a displaced state, and subsequently moving apart the two respective marginal regions in the displaced state.
System and method for primarily erecting curvilinear buildings using a plurality of interconnected structural tubes/sandwich panels
A system and method for primarily erecting curvilinear buildings using a plurality of interconnected structural tubes/sandwich panels is provided. Fabricating structural tubing comprises: connecting a fibrous and flexible lining to an inner surface of a flexible outer membrane, wherein the lining is saturated in a curable material that forms into a solid foam material when cured; and curing the curable material. Fabricating a sandwich panel comprises: connecting a first fibrous and flexible lining to an inner surface of a first flexible outer membrane, wherein the first lining is saturated in a curable material that forms into a solid foam when cured; connecting a second fibrous and flexible lining to an inner surface of a second flexible outer membrane, wherein the second lining is saturated in a curable material that forms into a solid foam when cured; and curing the curable material of the first lining and second linings.
Board panel
The present invention is transportable economically in a flat state, and easy to attach and detach, and can provide a curved surface simply while maintaining decoration and strength without craftsmanship and absorb sound. Slits are provided on a rectangular board panel comprising two or more layers of a hard material and a soft material. Two or more layers comprising a hard material and a soft material are laminated on a rectangular board panel, and slits having a length of ½ to ¾ of the vertical side are provided thereto. The use of slits makes formation of curved surfaces easy. Since there is no need to reinforce the outside to maintain the strength thereof, the board panel can be removed easily. Even if an external pressure is applied to the board panel, the flexibility of the hard material divided by the slits and the elastic characteristic of the soft material cause the pressure to be dispersed and absorbed, and sound to be absorbed.
Hinging Drywall Apparatus and Method
Described herein is a drywall apparatus and method. The apparatus includes a finishing drywall liner, a framing drywall liner, a first gypsum-containing segment between the finishing drywall liner and the framing drywall liner, and a second gypsum-containing segment between the finishing drywall liner and the framing drywall liner. The first segment and the second segment are connected by a hinge formed from the finishing drywall liner and the framing drywall liner to allow an angle between the first segment and the second segment to vary.
Self-cambering of timber elements
The invention relates to a method for the cambering of a wooden element, comprising the steps of: cutting to form at least one incision in a surface of the wooden element; inserting an expansive material into the at least one incision of the wooden element; letting the expansive material expand in the at least one incision so that a cambering of the wooden element is achieved.
A PANEL FOR A BUILDING STRUCTURE HAVING A PREDEFINED CURVATURE AND A METHOD OF MANUFACTURING SUCH PANEL
A panel for a building structure has a predefined curvature. The panel has a generally rectangular shape with a curvature, such that the panel has a convex outer surface and a concave inner surface with a set of side edge regions and a set of end edge regions. The panel is at least one mineral wool fibre slab with a plurality of first strips adhered to the outer surface and a plurality of second strips adhered to the inner surface.
Hinging drywall apparatus and method
Described herein is a drywall apparatus including drywall liner. A first gypsum-containing segment is disposed on an internal side of the drywall liner, and a second gypsum-containing segment is disposed on the internal side of the drywall liner such that a groove exists between the first segment and the second segment. The drywall liner connects the first segment to the second segment such that the first segment and the second segment are capable of hinging about a hinge axis parallel to the groove.
CONCRETE WALL PANELS WITH FLEXIBLE INSULATION MATERIAL
A structural, load-bearing panel useful in constructing multistory buildings may have a panel height, panel width, and panel thickness, and may include a first layer comprising at least 75 wt. % of concrete, relative to a total weight of the first layer; an insulation layer comprising flexible polymer, the insulation layer having a thickness of at least 5 cm; and a second layer comprising at least 75 wt. % concrete, wherein the insulation layer is sandwiched between the first and second layers, and wherein the panel is suitable to be set in any of a planar, curved, and polyhedral cross-sectional shape. Set panels are not flexible, though the flexibility of the insulation layer, particularly of a polyethylene foam, may allow the panel to have a curved, or polyhedral cross-section while still serving as a structural support.
Auxetic Structure and a Method for Manufacturing an Auxetic Structure
An auxetic structure includes material elements in a pattern with openings between the material elements. The structure in a planar and/or non-planar position includes at least one local variation from a regular pattern of the material elements and/or a regular pattern of the openings, so that when spatially deformed, at least some openings in the structure are locally stretchable into polygonal openings, free-from opening and/or openings with curved parts forming a spatial, grid-shaped pattern or a grid-shaped matrix.
Folded foam sheathing with starter strip
An exemplary foam insulation board includes a plurality of insulation panels hingeably connected by hinged portions. The foam insulation board has a folded configuration and an unfolded configuration. The hinged portions allow the insulation panels to fold flat against each other in the folded configuration. The plurality of insulation panels includes a first insulation panel and a plurality of additional insulation panels, one of which is adjacent to the first insulation panel. The first insulation panel also includes a starter portion that extends beyond at least the adjacent insulation panel of the additional panels.
