A panel for a building structure has a predefined curvature. The panel has a generally rectangular shape with a curvature, such that the panel has a convex outer surface and a concave inner surface with a set of side edge regions and a set of end edge regions. The panel is at least one mineral wool fibre slab with a plurality of first strips adhered to the outer surface and a plurality of second strips adhered to the inner surface.

BUILDING METHOD

A method of fabricating a structure including hanging a flexible fabric in a substantially vertical direction, shielding a portion of the flexible fabric and applying a fixative to an unshielded portion of the flexible fabric, thereby forming a fixed portion of the flexible fabric. A shielded portion of the flexible fabric is located in a portion of the fabric and is configured to act as a hinge allowing the fixed portion to be rotated.

Hinging drywall apparatus and method

Described herein is a drywall apparatus and method. The apparatus includes a finishing drywall liner, a framing drywall liner, a first gypsum-containing segment between the finishing drywall liner and the framing drywall liner, and a second gypsum-containing segment between the finishing drywall liner and the framing drywall liner. The first segment and the second segment are connected by a hinge formed from the finishing drywall liner and the framing drywall liner to allow an angle between the first segment and the second segment to vary.

STRUCTURAL PLATES AND METHODS OF CONSTRUCTING ARCH-SHAPED STRUCTURES USING STRUCTURAL PLATES
20220381023 · 2022-12-01 ·

Structural plates and methods of constructing arch-shaped structures using structural plates. Structural plates may include a combination of features including: an outer structural plate having adjacent circumferential apertures respectively spaced nominally greater than adjacent circumferential apertures of an inner structural plate; and the outer structural plate having nominally 5 enlarged or differently shaped circumferential apertures (as compared to circumferential apertures of the inner structural plate) such that the embodiment structural plates may be radiused to a variety of different radii while achieving desirable overlapping alignment of apertures along overlapping circumferential edges for receiving fasteners therein. Joiner plates may be provided for interconnecting structural plates along transverse edges in a non-overlapping arrangement, 10 thereby reducing the quantity of structural plate material that otherwise would be needed for a given circumferential length of the arch-shaped structure.

Concrete wall panels with flexible insulation material

A structural, load-bearing panel useful in constructing multistory buildings may have a panel height, panel width, and panel thickness, and may include a first layer comprising at least 75 wt. % of concrete, relative to a total weight of the first layer; an insulation layer comprising flexible polymer, the insulation layer having a thickness of at least 5 cm; and a second layer comprising at least 75 wt. % concrete, wherein the insulation layer is sandwiched between the first and second layers, and wherein the panel is suitable to be set in any of a planar, curved, and polyhedral cross-sectional shape. Set panels are not flexible, though the flexibility of the insulation layer, particularly of a polyethylene foam, may allow the panel to have a curved, or polyhedral cross-section while still serving as a structural support.

HINGING DRYWALL APPARATUS AND METHOD

A drywall system is provided including a first drywall panel and a second drywall panel connected to the first drywall panel via a main hinge. A first drywall flap connected to the first drywall panel via a first hinge, and a second drywall flap connected to the second drywall panel via a second hinge. The first drywall panel, the second drywall panel, the first drywall flap and the second drywall flap can hinge to assume at least one corner configuration in which the first and second flaps lie on a first plane, the first drywall panel lies on a second plane and the second drywall panel lies on a third plane, such that the first plane, the second plane and the third plane are mutually orthogonal. A coating can be provided on an external surface of the framing drywall liner for strengthening the groove which, in embodiments can be polyester strip that extends over portions of the first and second gypsum-containing segments on either side of the of the groove.

Method for producing a clad duct
09840051 · 2017-12-12 ·

A method for producing clad duct from a laminate is disclosed. The laminate is a sheet of thermoplastic material bonded to an insulative foam board. V-shaped grooves are formed in the foam board, opposite the sheet. The sheet is heated in the vicinity of one of the grooves, until pliable. The sheet is then bent, where it has become pliable, to close the groove. The heated and bent sheet is then cooled until it is no longer pliable and retains its bent shape. The heating, bending, and cooling steps are repeated for the other grooves until edges of the laminate are brought together. The edges are then sealed.

Method for Fabricating a Composite Construction Element

The present invention relates to a method for fabricating a composite construction element using a mould fabricated by a computer-controlled apparatus. The method comprises the steps of fabricating the mould having one or more receiving portions dimensioned to receive one or more respective objects responsive to computer instructions relating to the mould geometry, positioning the one or more objects in respective receiving portions, covering at least a portion of the mould and the one or more objects with settable material, and at least partially curing the settable material, thereby forming the composite construction element having the one or more objects embedded therein.

Composite cores and panels

The plurality of pieces of low density cellular material, such as foam plastics, form a core panel having opposite side surfaces and with adjacent pieces having opposing edge surfaces extending between the side surfaces. Sheets of flexible material, such as veils or mats or scrim, are adhesively attached to the side surfaces, and portions of one sheet extend between the opposing adjacent edge surfaces for limiting flexing of the panel. The pieces may be tapered, and portions of the one sheet may project between the edge surfaces either partially or fully to form double wall webs. The webs may have flanges adhesively attached to the other sheet on the opposite side. One sheet may also be stretchable in areas not adhesively attached to the pieces to provide for curving the panel from a planar position maintained by the sheet on the opposite side.

Curved duct, and method and machine for producing it
11207820 · 2021-12-28 · ·

A duct that, in cross section, has one or more rounded portions is disclosed together with a method and a machine for producing it. The duct can be made from rigid foam panels with a facing on at east one side of the panels. A crimping element is used to form several substantially parallel indentations or crimps on a faced side of a panel, without breaching the facing, so that the crimped panel can be manipulated to form a section of duct with the crimps extending longitudinally. Depending on the number of crimps, the duct will appear more or less round in cross section although the crimped foam panels can be manipulated to have cross sections of different shapes such as oval. Adjacent duct sections may be joined, for example, with tape or bands, several of which are described.
