Cementitious panels with swellable materials and methods of providing a moisture or water barrier in cementitious panels using swellable materials
Provided are cementitious panel that include a swellable material within a core layer, a dense layer, and/or a sheet of facing material that make up a cementitious panel, as well as methods of manufacturing such cementitious panels that include a swellable material and methods of providing a moisture or water barrier in a cementitious panel.
HUMIDITY AND SAG RESISTANT BUILDING PANEL
Described herein is a stain and sag resistant acoustic building panel comprising a porous body formed from building material and latex binder, wherein the building material may include fibers and filler and at one of the building materials has been pre-treated with a charge-modifying component, thereby enhancing the sag-resistance of the building panel.
Apparatus for dispersing impact forces
A device for reducing impact forces upon a surface includes a base comprising a first contact portion and a transition portion, a contact member disposed between the base and the surface; and a biasing portion disposed between the first contact portion of the base and the surface. At least a first portion of an impact force upon the surface is transferred from the contact member to the base, and a second portion of the impact force is subsequently returned to the surface, the second portion being less than the first portion.
Sound damping gypsum board and method of constructing a sound damping gypsum board
The present invention is directed to an improved gypsum board, such as an improved sound damping gypsum board. The gypsum board comprises a gypsum core including gypsum and a sound damping polymer. The gypsum core includes a first gypsum layer surface and a second gypsum layer surface opposing the first gypsum layer surface. In addition, a first encasing layer is disposed on the first gypsum layer surface and a second encasing layer is disposed on the second gypsum layer surface.
MISSION CONFIGURABLE SHELTER WITH ELECTROMAGNETIC INTERFERENCE (EMI) PROTECTION
A portable shelter with electromagnetic interference (EMI) protection includes a plurality of walls that define an interior space. The walls can be fixed or movable. An EMI protected edge connector joins at least two of the walls together. The EMI protected edge connector assembly can be fixed or hinged. The edge connector can include a metallic outer edge member with two legs and a separate metallic inner edge member with two legs to define an edge channel therebetween with: (i) the first outer leg and the first inner leg are arranged parallel and spaced-apart relative to each other; and (ii) the second outer leg and the second inner leg arranged parallel and spaced-apart relative to each other. The shelter walls can include an inner surface covered by a metallic foil inner layer. A first wall panel is received in a first portion of the edge channel with its metallic foil inner layer contacting the inner edge member and a second wall panel is received in a second portion of the edge channel with it metallic foil inner layer contacting the inner edge member.
CONSTRUCTION PANELS HAVING AN INTEGRATED DRAINAGE MECHANISM, AND ASSOCIATED ASSEMBLIES AND METHODS
Disclosed is a structural sheathing panel with an integrated drainage mechanism, comprising: a structural panel core; a plurality of rows, each row of the plurality of rows comprising raised elements deposited on an external surface of the panel and spaced from one another, each of the raised elements having an elongated, linear profile which has a longitudinal axis, wherein the longitudinal axis of at least one of the raised elements of each row is not parallel to any edge of the panel.
ENGINEERED WOOD PANEL WITH CONNECTIVITY LAYER
An engineered wood product with at least one engineered-wood substrate or core layer (such as, but not limited to, OSB), with a connectivity layer configured to reflect RF signals (e.g., wifi and/or cellular signals), thereby enhancing connectivity in adjacent or proximate spaces or areas. The connectivity layer may be a metallic material, such as, but not limited to, aluminum or copper. The layer may be a sheet or film or foil of the metallic material applied to the surface(s), or integrated into the interior, of the substrate or core layer. The layer also may be a coating or deposited layer. A connectivity layer may be “sandwiched” between two or more engineered-wood substrates, thereby forming a composite panel or product. The surface of the connectivity layer may be embossed or patterned.
Humidity and sag resistant building panel
Described herein is an stain and sag resistant acoustic building panel comprising a porous body formed from building material and latex binder, wherein the building material may include fibers and filler and at one of the building materials has been pre-treated with a charge-modifying component, thereby enhancing the sag-resistance of the building panel.
Modular wall panels and system
Modular wall panels having a frame of a plurality of frame components and at least one wall sheet affixed to the frame. The frame components may have angled ends, straight ends, or a combination thereof to collectively form a frame which may include corners. Each frame component includes an outer surface with at least one aperture configured to receive and retain an insert therein. The apertures are also configured to permit a cable(s) to pass therethrough for running cables and such through the interior of the wall panel. Connectors and spacers may be inserted into the apertures as inserts and bridge between adjacent panels to selectively connect the panels. Caps may be placed in empty apertures to cover the openings for aesthetic purposes. A wall system includes a plurality of such wall panels connected to one another along the outer surfaces of the frame components of their respective frames.
COVER BOARD WITH REINFORCING LAYER
A cover board and roofing system including a cover board are disclosed. In one embodiment, the cover board includes a core having a first surface and a second surface. The core is configured to overlie a roof substrate. The cover board includes at least one facer attached to the first surface, the second surface, or both the first surface and second surface of the core. The cover board includes a reinforcing layer positioned between the core and the at least one facer. The reinforcing layer may comprise a scrim material. An impact resistance of the cover board may be greater than an impact resistance of an identical cover board without the scrim material.
