An integrated roofing product comprising a wood or cellulosic structural or roof sheathing base or core panel with a rigid foam insulation sheet or layer laminated or otherwise attached to the panel's inner face. Shingles and/or other protective material may then be attached to the panel's outer face. A plurality of parallel air channels extend vertically in the rigid foam insulation sheet or layer, providing a pathway for air to pass up and out of the eave space. Some or all of the air channels are disposed on the surface of the foam layer that is laminated or attached to the panel's inner face, so that part of the air channel is formed at the interface. A radiant barrier layer may be placed on the inner face of the rigid foam insulation sheet or layer, or between the foam insulation and the inner face of the roof sheathing base or core panel.

A self-ventilating roofing system that comprises a rigid deck that is connected to the roof support system and has a lower horizontal opening parallel to the eave, on both slopes, and above the attic space. There is also an upper opening on either side of the ridge. A radiant barrier comprising of a reflective layer applied over the roof deck. A slice is made in the radiant barrier over the lower and upper opening of the deck to allow air to enter the lower opening and exit the upper opening. An insulated panel with vertical grooves is installed over the radiant barrier with the groove side face down. This insulated panel is made of a type of insulated material. A metal drip edge is then installed along the eave. This drip edge should be installed with an air gap between the facia and the drip edge sufficiently wide enough to allow air to enter. A vented ridge vent is then installed at the ridge to allow for the weather proof exit of the air. When a metal roof is being installed then the metal panels can be attached on top of the insulated panel. When an asphalt shingle or wood shake roof is being installed then a nailable panel must be installed over the insulated panel. The insulated panel can be made of rigid insulated pane or a flexible insulated panel with the ability to be rolled up for ease of installation.

Ridge vents and deck covers are disclosed that have a fibrous mesh mat and a moisture barrier. The mesh mat may be contoured to define a variety of structures and may have regions of relatively higher fiber density and regions of relatively lower fiber density. Solar cells may be exposed on the ridge vents to collect solar energy when the vents are exposed to sunlight.

The thermal hybrid tank is a multifunctional tank with a shape that makes for easy construction and assembly while maximizing the ability of thermal syphoning. This invention can store an inlet liquid and thermal energy from a heat exchanger, for outlet usage in multiple applications. The tank typically has a pitch coupling front surface and a downward angled front surface which together allows for coupling with the heat exchanger and a roof decking or a solar panel, of which could be a liquid cooled PV solar panel, or a solar focusing panel, or a roof structure.

A collapsible air gap device and assembly. In one embodiment, the device comprises an upper plate, a lower plate, and a rib secured at the upper plate and at the lower plate. The result is a hybrid ventilation device adapted to ventilate an attic space in a variety of configurations.

Devices and associated methods are provided for improving ventilation of insulation material and building construction and renovation. Specifically, the present disclosure includes devices and system(s) to achieve the ventilation of exterior walls and roofs. Components of the system(s) consider shut-down of the ventilation process when it is not necessary, such as in winter, and in the event of fire, where the prevention of vertical and horizontal fire spread is desired.

A hollow brick includes a bottom wall, two side walls projecting from the bottom wall, a plurality of intermediate walls projecting from the bottom wall between the side walls, a top wall opposite to the bottom wall and connecting the side walls and the intermediate walls, and a plurality of ventilation holes bounded by the bottom wall, the side walls, the intermediate walls and the top wall. The bottom wall has a plurality of foot portions projecting downwardly and spaced apart from each other. A bottom groove is formed between two adjacent ones of the foot portions.

The invention can make up the entire roof of a building or vehicle, or be integrated into a portion of said roofs. This invention utilizes and reduces the amount of solar radiation that enters a building or vehicle via the roof. This system can include a water holding tank or a plurality of tanks, heat exchangers, fire sprinkler heads and various glazing options. Said heat exchangers are contained between the rafters or trusses, and takes advantage of thermal syphoning to store energy in said tank or said plurality of tanks. Additionally, this roof system can function as a fire suppression apparatus and a skylight apparatus that allows natural light into the structure, and may be integrated with LED lighting to illuminate the skylight glazing and interior space. The exterior upper covering may consist of a glazing material like tempered glass coupled with additional roofing elements or standard upper covering assemblies.

A ventilating and heat dissipating assembly for a roof includes hollow bricks, first corrugated plates and second corrugate plates. Each first corrugated plate spans a gap between two pairs of the hollow bricks that are spaced apart along intersecting first and second directions. Each second corrugated plate spans a gap formed between two of the hollow bricks spaced apart in the first direction and a gap between two of the first corrugated plates spaced apart in the second direction.

A roof ventilation system can be installed between the rafters of an attic prior to the application of spray-in foam insulation. A roof ventilation system can be provided in 4-foot, 8-foot, or other lengths, of foam insulation board that have kerf cuts (i.e. partial cuts) separating the roof ventilation system into a main panel sized to fit between two rafters, and two side panels. The side panels can be folded over 180 degrees to meet the main panel, and an adhesive can secure them in place to form a foundation. The foundation of the roof ventilation system can include a roof adhesive that can secure the roof ventilation system to the underside of the roof between rafters.
