Photovoltaic mounting systems that form chemical flashings are provided herein. Such sealant injection systems provide directional control and containment of sealant flow to form a chemical flashing that improves sealing of roof penetrations. Such systems can include a base assembly adapted to mount to a roof surface and support a mounting bracket having a photovoltaic module coupling device. The base assembly can include a sealant guide, a compressing plate and a sealant cartridge held between the guide and compressing plate by one or more coupling features of the guide. The coupling features can include a first set of features, such as a series of tabs, that facilitate coupling between the guide and the compressing plate. The base assembly can further include a base that releasably couples to the sealant guide by a second set of coupling features. Methods of mounting such base assemblies on roof surfaces are also provided.

End clamp for mounting solar module to rail

A solar power system may include rails, solar modules, and a plurality of clamps to secure the solar modules to the rails. An end clamp may be partially disposed inside a rail at an end of the rail. The end clamp may secure a solar module to the rail by coupling to the frame of the solar module. The end clamp may include a fastener that may be tightened to engage the end clamp and secure the solar module by holding it on top of the rail. The end clamp may establish an electrical grounding connection between the frame of the solar module and the rail.

Photovoltaic mounting system for tiled roofs
09806668 · 2017-10-31 · ·

A photovoltaic mounting system for tile roofs is disclosed. In one embodiment, mounting bracket is attached to a roof deck and passes through a flashing support and flexible flashing that mimics the contour of the adjacent roof tiles. In other embodiments, a tile hook passes through partial or full tile replacement flashing. A plug or other structure blocks the space around the tile hook preventing the ingress of pests and debris under the flashing and surrounding tiles. Additional photovoltaic module mounting hardware, including sections of rails and frame mounts are attached either the mounting bracket or tile hook.

Heat panel and fastener system

A heat panel system for preventing ice formation about a roof or gutter includes at least two heat panels that are connected using a fastener. The heat panels each include a body including at least one channel configured to accept a heating element. Tongues and grooves or other mating arrangements on the panels and the fastener permit two panels to be joined by a fastener so as to inhibit relative lateral movement and enhance heat transfer between panels. A single panel or a multi-panel system can be mounted directly on the roof, and/or a single panel system can be mounted in a gutter. By using these heat panels and fasteners, heat panel systems of varying widths can be made using the same supplies.

A system for mounting solar panels on a building may include panel mounting brackets each including a base to be positioned on the building and a vertical extension having a proximal end coupled to the base and a distal end vertically spaced apart from the base. The system may also include interior mounting clamps each including a leg having a proximal end to be coupled to the distal end of the vertical extension of a given panel mounting bracket and a distal end. Each interior mounting clamp may also include a first lateral arm for securing a first solar panel to the given panel mounting bracket, and a second lateral arm for securing a second solar panel to the given panel mounting bracket. The second lateral arm may have a bottom surface positioned vertically above a bottom surface of the first lateral arm along the leg.

Optimized truss foundations, adapters for optimized truss foundations and related systems and methods
11280521 · 2022-03-22 · ·

An A-frame shaped truss foundation system for a single-axis tracker with moderately sloped legs that translate lateral loads into tension and compression without substantially increasing the magnitude of the lateral load force while optimizing material usage. Several such truss foundation systems are installed in a row to support a torque tube of a single-axis solar tracker. An adapter joins ends of adjacent upper legs and separates the truss legs by an angle more than 35-degrees up to 70-degrees. In some cases, the adapter may have an integrated bearing.

Support platforms for one or more solar panels and systems and methods for securing support platforms are provided. In one embodiment, a frame of a support platform includes a plurality of support legs, each leg including a shoe plate. One or more toggle anchors with rod and/or cable are provided that include an anchor portion and a toggle portion pivotally coupled to the anchor portion, and a rod and/or cable is coupled to the toggle portion. Each anchor is driven into the ground with a driving rod such that an exposed end of the rod and/or cable extends from the ground. The driving rod is removed, and the rod and/or cable is pulled to deploy the anchor, and which the anchor is pull tested and measured in real time soil conditions whereupon the exposed end is coupled to the shoe plate of one of the support legs to apply a desired tensile force between the exposed end and the anchor to secure the support leg and, consequently, the support platform relative to the ground.
