ROOF TILE APPARATUS AND METHODS OF MAKING AND USE
Novel rigid tile, rigid tile apparatus, methods of making and use are disclosed. One embodiment includes a method of mounting rigid tile with a nail gun providing a protruding nail tip used as a nail passage or depression finder in the rigid tile. Another embodiment includes a metal roof tile having at least one fastener passage having pre-formed spacer section extending from the upper surface of the metal roof tile to space a fastener head or end from the upper surface of the metal roof tile. Yet another embodiment provides interconnectable rigid rooftiles, with the interconnection provided by upwardly extending channel structure that can allow adjacent rigid rooftiles to positionally adjusted on a roof laterally across the roof with respect to each other. A tile bottom-side covering sealing bent T-trim can be utilized to cover open underside areas of a right roof tile. A novel installation method and rigid rooftile installation kit can utilize embodiments of the structures and methods stated above and, as desired, yet additional structure such as differently structured rigid rooftile components and trim components of differing shapes and sizes as desired.
Roof Shingle Installer Tool Nail U Punch with Magnet Nail Holder
The invention is a steel hand-held u-shaped roofing tool that allows for and facilitates the installation of new roofing shingles underneath existing asphalt shingles. The invention utilizes a unique steel shape and accompanying embedded magnet to accomplish this. The main parts are the body that distributes hammer impacts from above around a void that the old shingle slides into. A protected embedded magnet that holds the roofing nails perpendicular to the bottom surface of the tool.
ROOFING PANELS WITH INTEGRATED WATERSHEDDING
Panels with substantially integrated watershedding features may be installed on the roof a house or other structure in lieu of traditional roofing materials. The panels include a body formed from a mixture of filler materials and polymeric binder materials, which can include recycled materials, with watershedding features generally formed with and/or integrated with the panels. The panels also can be installed in overlapping courses along a roof with the watershedding features incorporated along one or more peripheral edges. The watershedding features of adjacent panels further can cooperated to collect and divert water away from the upper surfaces and/or away headlap and/or sidelap joints defined between the panels.
Devices and systems for ventilation of solar roofs
This application relates to the ventilation of a solar roof. For example, a solar roof can include a solar roof tile and a spacer, batten or other ventilating components to space the solar roof tile from the roof deck, and provide ventilation to the solar roof tile, for reduced operating temperatures and improved efficiency in electricity generation.
Roofing systems and methods
A shingle assembly for installation on a roof structure is provided. The shingle assembly can include an insulative substrate, a surface sheet coupled to and extending across a substantial portion of the insulative substrate, and a hook-and-loop fastening system comprising a hook portion and a loop portion. The hook portion or the loop portion can be coupled to and extend along the insulative substrate adjacent the surface sheet. The other of the hook portion or the loop portion can be coupled to and extend along the surface sheet. The hook portion can be configured to mate with a loop portion of a first adjoining shingle assembly and the loop portion can be configured to mate with a hook portion of a second adjoining shingle assembly.
SHINGLE WITH REINFORCEMENT MEMBER
A roofing shingle includes an overlay sheet, an underlay sheet, and a reinforcement member. The overlay sheet includes a headlap portion and a tab portion, wherein the overlay sheet has an overlay sheet height. The underlay sheet is secured to a bottom surface of the overlay sheet such that a region of the underlay sheet overlaps a region of the headlap portion of the overlay sheet. The reinforcement material is secured to a top surface of the headlap portion of the overlay sheet, wherein the reinforcement material is configured to improve nail pull-through, wherein the reinforcement material extends beyond the overlapping regions of the headlap portion and the underlay sheet.
ROOF TILE AND A ROOF COVERING
A roof tile comprising a ceramic body and a reinforcing element attached to a lower surface of the ceramic body.
ROOFING SYSTEM AND ASSOCIATED ROOFING SHINGLE
Roofing shingles are disclosed that are capable of self-adhering to a roof deck or underlayment and/or other roofing shingles and that require few or no mechanical fasteners to remain attached to the roof. By appropriate positioning of sealant lines on the shingle, direct adhesion between the shingle and the roof deck or underlayment and/or other roofing shingles can be achieved. If the shingle is laminated, the layers may be mechanically attached with indentations in the common bond area. The nail zone of the shingle may be visually indicated with fines and/or one or more paint lines. A roofing system comprising a plurality of courses of the shingles is also disclosed.
Metal shingle and snow guard apparatus
A metal shingle having a body with left, right, top and bottom parts. The body is substantially planar and rectangular and has a front, a rear, left and right sides, a top and a bottom. The left and right parts extend from the left and right side respectively. One of the left and right parts is folded over the front and the other is folded over the bottom. The top and bottom parts extend from the top and bottom respectively. One of the top and bottom parts is folded over the front and the other is folded over the bottom. In use, the shingles are positioned in each of side-to-side and top-to-bottom abutting relation so that adjacent sides are interlocked. The body defining a hollow adjacent to one of the interlocking top and bottom parts.
