The textile material has warp threads and weft threads connected together in a lattice-like manner so as to form a fabric. A foam layer which has foam pores that are separated from one another by solid foam walls is applied onto the textile sheet material on at least one side of the textile sheet material.

The tension release system comprises a threaded member configured to, when actuated, cause a coupling mechanism to move along an axis defined by the threaded member. The method also comprises coupling a shade membrane to the coupling mechanism. The method also comprises actuating the threaded member in a first direction, such that the coupling mechanism moves along the axis in a tensioning direction. The tension release system is configured to release applied tension upon actuation of the threaded member in a second direction, causing the coupling mechanism to move along the axis in a release direction. The release direction is substantially the reverse direction of the tensioning direction.

An awning assembly for use with a vehicle. The awning comprising an elongate base attachable to the vehicle, the base having a first end and an opposing second end, a portion of the second end of the base being magnetic or responsive to magnetic force. Arms are attached at the first and/or second end of the base, being pivotable relative to the base between a stowed position and a deployed position. A portion of each arm being magnetic or responsive to magnetic force. A flexible sheet associated with the arms, which in the deployed positon with the arms extending away from the base so that the flexible sheet provides cover to an area beneath the arms. In the stowed position, the arms are located adjacent the base so that the magnetic portions of the base and the arms connect, thereby securing the arms to the base.
