Lifeguard observation station
A lifeguard observation station having a support structure, a platform member and stairs. The platform member is supported by the support structure and is elevated from ground level. The platform member has a first side, with at least a portion of the first side of the platform member being configured to be positioned proximate to or in-line with an edge of a pool or body of water. The stairs extend between the ground level and the platform member. The support structure is offset from the stairs. The lifeguard observation station provides a lifeguard unimpaired line-of-sight to swimmers or bathers in the pool or body of water whether when the lifeguard is positioned on the platform member or on the stairs.

Vertical Flood Escape Structure
A vertical escape structure comprises an escape housing disposed in a vertical orientation and mounted to a ground to maintain structural integrity in the vertical orientation against external flooding. The escape housing includes an interior which is sealed against water entry from exterior flooding and at least one of a staircase, a ladder, an elevator, or a lift disposed in the interior of the escape housing. The vertical escape structure further comprises a connecting walkway to connect the escape housing to a building. The escape housing has a smaller horizontal footprint than the building. The walkway is severable from the building by force without damaging the escape housing to cause water entry from the exterior flooding.
Guard Assemblies
An example system in accordance with an aspect of the present disclosure includes an opening assembly and a guard assembly installable in a floor above an enclosed region. The opening assembly is actuatable between an open configuration to provide access to the enclosed region, and a closed configuration in which the opening assembly provides a closed surface. A guard assembly is mounted to the opening assembly and actuatable independent of the opening assembly, between a retracted configuration flush with the closed surface of the opening assembly, and a deployed configuration to serve as a guard for the opening assembly.

Freestanding modular spiral staircase
A freestanding, adjustable, modular spiral staircase embodied in a unique method of spiral staircase design is provided. The steps of the spiral staircase are arrayed and supported in a circular pattern around a central column with the outside edges or leading or trailing corners of the steps are supported by three peripheral columns, while step posts interconnect adjacent steps. Many parts are interchangeable and the steps adjustable to allow for shortening or lengthening the staircase. The base of the staircase unit is heavy to provide maximum stability and to prevent tipping.

ELEVATING APPARATUS BASED ON HETERO-ORIENTED, NON-ISOMETRIC, DUAL-SPIRAL DRIVE STRUCTURE
The present invention relates an elevating apparatus based on a hetero-oriented non-isometric, dual-spiral drive structure, comprising a first carrier and a second carrier, further comprising a first support and a second support that are telescoped together in a manner that they can rotate with respect to each other, the first support is provided with a first recessed portion and a first raised portion that shares the same spiral direction and spiral pitch, the second support is provided with a homo-oriented, isometric, dual-spiral second recessed portion that has a spiral direction different from that of the first recessed portion. The carrier of the present invention is provided in a simply-supported-beam, and the carrier force can be achieved without additional weight, and the operation is stable and reliable.
