A method of fabricating a plate for a support pedestal used to support a building surface component above a fixed surface includes forming one or more ribs into a sheet of material adjacent a periphery of the sheet so that the rib extends substantially continuously about a central axis of the sheet that is perpendicular to first and second opposite surfaces of the sheet and creating a series of spacer tabs out of the sheet between the central axis and the rib that are configured to space adjacent building surface components placed over the sheet.

A tiling system for forming or covering a deck includes a plurality of lightweight tiles (formed of synthetic plastics material) and a like plurality of underlay units to be secured underneath the tiles with peripheral edges of the tiles mutually adjacent. The tiles and the underlay units are formed with respective non-adhesive connection means locating each tile on and centrally located with respect to a corresponding underlay unit. Projections extend from the edges of the underlay units to engage adjacent underlay units in use and to separate the edges of the tiles. Each tile is of lateral extent in each direction somewhat less than the lateral extent of the corresponding underlay unit, so that the tiles when connected to the underlay units have their edges mutually spaced apart with open gaps between them. The gaps between the tiles permit them to expand in hot weather without lifting or tenting.

A subfloor and subfloor anchoring system are disclosed, including a subfloor anchor adhesively attached to a slab. The subfloor anchor can include an anchor base and an anchor pin, with the anchor base adhesively attached to the slab, and the anchor pin attached to the anchor base and advanceable towards the anchor base. The anchor pin contacts an upper surface of a subfloor component and to anchor the subfloor to the slab.

A support for raised floors including a base for resting on a lower surface, an element for connecting and adjusting the local height of a raised floor, and a resting head for one or more tiles of the raised floor. The connecting and adjustment element has a first portion for providing floors that are inclined with respect to the lower surface. The connecting and adjustment element further includes a second portion, which lies opposite the first portion, for providing floors that are parallel to the lower surface. A raised floor and an assembling method thereof includes a plurality of raised floor boards, wherein a plurality of raised floor boards are assembled and connected to form an integrated floor, an edge of the integrated floor close to the wall is supported by a leveling beam, and leveling screws are arranged below connecting positions of two adjacent raised floor boards, a reserved expansion joint is arranged between the edge of the integrated floor and the wall, and a position above the integrated floor close to the wall is fixedly connected with frame beam by an expansion screw. An edge of the raised floor board body structure is processed, so that the raised floor boards can be assembled through lap joint and connection of structures, and supported through the leveling screws when they are in mutually lap joint for assembly.

A planting system having a plurality of potting trays that can be interconnected in a modular fashion to create a multitude of different configurations. Each potting tray has a plurality of holes operatively connected with a conduit through which plumbing can be incorporated into the planting system to water plants in the potting trays via the plurality of holes. A plurality of pedestals may be used to elevate the planting system. Lateral braces may be used to interconnect the plurality of pedestals.

Disclosed may be an intermediate surface for supporting a small paver, wherein the surface can also be used to exchange heat with the pavers. In one embodiment, the apparatus may be a tray defined by a frame with a lattice for supporting pavers. The tray preferably features a tubing track throughout the lattice to accommodate heat exchange tubing. In operation the tray may be positioned above a pedestal or directly on a subsurface. In embodiment, the tray may be outfitted with insulation and a metal plate so that heat may be exchanged with pedestals via fluid passing through tubing installed throughout the lattice. In a preferred embodiment, the tray features a slot in its corners for receiving a locking disk or locking slider.
