An apparatus and related kit for forming the apparatus that includes a modular perimeter guardrail assembly useful on top of electrical transformers found in industrial settings. The apparatus and kit includes a plurality of anchors, each said anchor providing a post support and removably attachable to an edge of an electrical transformer; a plurality of post assemblies, each post assembly removably attached to a corresponding one of said anchors in a vertical orientation; a plurality of brace assemblies, each brace assembly removably attached to at least two of said post assemblies; and at least one midrail clamp assembly capable of providing removable attachment to exactly two of said brace assemblies at a midpoint thereof.

A platform system comprising a platform structure having at least one modular platform unit with platform connection features on a side surface thereof to which other components can be connected, the other components including at least two of the following: another modular platform unit, a stair unit, a tower unit, a handrail unit, and a ladder unit. A stair assembly is connected to the platform structure via said connection features, the stair assembly comprising a plurality of stair units connected together to provide a number of steps equal to the sum of steps of the stair units.

Apparatus to equip an existing stair case with no hand railing with hand railings with the purpose of aiding a person with reduced capacity to climb up and down stairs. The apparatus includes features that permit the system to adjust to a large inventory of existing stair cases and to be installed without making any damage to existing installation. The apparatus is comprised of oversteps, railings, fixed height railing supports, adjustable height railing supports, attachments to prevent tripping, a half step and hardware to attach all the pieces together such as bolts, nuts, butterfly nuts, washers and screws. The apparatus may be assembled, disassembled, and reassembled any given configuration of the guardrail apparatus on the same or different transformer and serves to prevent workers from falling off the top of the given transformer.

A modular guardrail system relates to a set of interconnected beams that each fit into pairs of detachable bases, thus allowing for the creation, adjustment, and removal of a variety of configurations of temporary fence-style barriers. Each guardrail section may include two vertical posts, one on each end of each guardrail section, connected by a set of horizontal beams and, in some cases, a horizontal toeplate. Adjacent guardrail sections share a common base, thus allowing for the chain assembly of an extended barrier. The base that connects to the guardrail sections may include several vertically-oriented brackets that may slide into the different guardrail posts. The placement of the vertical brackets upon the base is selected so that each of the attached guardrail sections can be arranged independently of one another in any direction. The vertical brackets may be rotatably attached, thereby allowing for more flexible arrangements of the guardrail sections.

A telescoping rail assembly for a roof hatch includes a bracket configured to couple to the roof hatch, where the roof hatch is configured to provide access to a roof of a building, a post coupled to the bracket and configured to extend from the roof hatch and outward from the roof, and a telescoping rail having a first portion and a second portion, where the first portion and the second portion are slidably adjustable with respect to one another, and where the telescoping rail is disposed along a portion of a perimeter of the roof hatch to enable the telescoping rail assembly to enclose an area that includes the roof hatch.

A telescopic handrail that includes first and second telescoping members adapted to move from a first contracted position to a second expanded position. The telescoping members each having a free end and an opposing telescoping end. The handrail includes locking arrangement to releasably secure the telescoping members in the first contracted position. The handrail includes restraining arrangement to prevent the telescoping members from separating more than the second expanded position. The handrail includes a first fixing device to secure a free end of the first telescoping member to a fixed point. The handrail includes a second releasable fixing device to releasably secure a free end of the second telescoping member to a fixed point.

A portable adjustable stair railing includes a plurality of telescopically adjustable balusters having structural attachments at the bottom of each, such as, for example, adhesives, suction cups, or removable fasteners, such as bolts. The height adjustment for each baluster is set by spring-biased buttons and cooperating apertures located on the two sleeved portions of the baluster. The top balustrade receiving end of each of the balusters includes a collar-like receiver and a set screw to hold the balustrade in the desired position. The side walls each include a static portion and a slidable portion coupled to the static portion and movable between a retracted position and an extended position. An end wall of the patio railing assembly includes a first portion pivotably mounted to the first side wall and a second portion pivotably mounted to the second side wall. In a storage configuration, the first portion of the end wall is configured to nest within the first side wall, the second portion of the end wall is configured to nest within the second side wall, and the first and second side walls are configured to extend along one another with the slidable portions thereof in the retracted position.
