The present invention discloses a compound lumber product, relating to the technical field of wooden materials for making furniture, and particularly to a compound lumber product that may be used for making furniture. The compound lumber product includes a core lumber and side-members surrounding the core lumber. The core lumber may be one piece or formed from several core members. The side-members may be single-piece or formed by joining together several high-grade wood boards or strips. Side-members are arranged side by side around the outer surface of the core lumber, wrapping around the core lumber with tail edge of a preceding side-member secured or connected to the inner side-face of the subsequent adjoining side-member at its head edge in a head-to-tail manner, to form the enclosure structure.

A hand rail system and associated methods. Newel posts of the hand rail system can be mounted in a top mount configuration or a lateral mount configuration. Mounts are receivable in a boot subassembly in a horizontal or vertical arrangement for anchoring the boot subassembly to substructure. After anchoring of the boot subassembly, a column subassembly may be installed and anchored. Openings in the boot and column subassemblies permit access to the interior of the newel post for anchoring the boot and column subassemblies and for connecting a hand rail to the column subassembly. Subsequent installation of covers on the boot subassembly and column subassembly closes the newel post and provides a finished appearance free of external indication that openings in the newel post existed and have been covered. A device to aid developing and improving roping techniques and skills providing a roping target with four animated and articulated leg portions. The roping target is capable of moving through free space independent of the means by which the legs articulate. Embodiments of the subject invention provide a roping target that simulates the relative size of a small goat-like animal, while other embodiments simulate a relatively large calf like animal. Embodiments of the subject invention provide a novel method to vary the gate speed of the legs and/or vary the type of gate of the roping target. The invention includes safety mechanisms for use.

A dual-axis swivel bracket for a deck railing section is disclosed. The bracket is simultaneously adjustable along a first axis and a perpendicular second axis.
