A fall protection cable system configured for installation of a roof on a steel building includes a starting support post, a final support post, and a support cable. The starting support post is configured for attachment to a first side of the steel building and has a bottom starting end configured to attach to the first side of the steel building and a top starting end extending above the roof. The final support post is configured for attachment to a second side of the steel building and has a bottom final end configured to attach to the second side of the steel building and a top final end extending above the roof on the second side. The support cable is configured to be connected at an elevated position above the roof of the steel building between the top starting end and the top final end.
ENERGY ABSORBING DEVICE FOR FALL PROTECTION SYSTEM
An energy absorbing device includes a body having a first path of reduced strength extending from a first end to near a central axis of the body. The first path of reduced strength includes a plurality of perforations extending through the body and disposed adjacent to each other. The plurality of perforations is arranged in a first spiral shape. The body also includes a second path of reduced strength spaced apart from the first path of reduced strength. The second path of reduced strength extends from a second end to near the central axis of the body. The second path of reduced strength has a second spiral shape. Upon application of a force above a threshold at the first end and the second end in opposing directions, the body is configured to separate along the first path of reduced strength and the second path of reduced strength to absorb energy.
PERSON ANCHOR UNIT FOR PERSON FALL SAFETY USING ONE OR MORE PERMANENT MAGNETS
A person anchor unit (10) for person fall safety, the person anchor unit (10) comprising connection side (12) comprising a connection surface (14) adapted for facing an anchor surface (90) comprising magnetizable material; an anchor point (20) for attaching a safety line (80); one or more permanent magnets (30) positioned at or near the connection surface ( ); and at least one test unit (40) comprising a first displacement member (42I) being displaceable between a retracted position (44) and an extended position (46), wherein the first displacement member (42I) at the extended position (46) engage the anchor surface (90); a tool connection point (50) mechanically linked to the first displacement member (42I), wherein actuation of the tool connection point (50) causes displacement of the first displacement member (42I) between the retracted position (44) and the extended position (46).
TIP-OVER POST
A tip over post includes a stanchion. The stanchion includes an annular cylinder. The annular cylinder includes a number of cuts defined along the longitudinal axis of the cylinder. A stanchion includes an annular cylinder. The annular cylinder includes a number of helical cuts defmed along the longitudinal axis of the cylinder. The helical cuts comprise a number of perforations located along the helical cuts. The load the stanchion is to bear is based at least in part on the number of perforations located along the helical cuts. A method of arresting a fall includes installing a tip over post, and arresting a fall using the moment and linear expansion of the annular cylinder. The tip over post includes an annular cylinder including a number of helical cuts defined along the longitudinal axis of the cylinder. The helical cuts comprise a number of perforations located along the helical cuts.
Posts for use in fall protection
A post system for use in fall protection includes a connector to connect to a structure and a support in operative connection with a lifeline to maintain the lifeline at a first height above the structure. When a first threshold force is experienced on the lifeline, the support is operable to lower the lifeline to a second height which is lower than the first height. The ratio of a change in effective length of the lifeline resulting from the lowering of the lifeline to a change in height resulting from lowering of the lifeline (or the ΔL/ΔH ratio) is less than 1. The ratio of the change in effective length of the lifeline resulting from the lowering of the lifeline to the change in height resulting from lowering of the lifeline may also be less than 0.5 or less than 0.4.
Ballasted fall prevention apparatus
A rooftop safety system for protecting persons from falling off a rooftop environment by employing fall protection which may include a ballasted fall prevention apparatus, and a fall protection anchor coupled to the ballasted fall prevention apparatus. A fall protection anchor may include an attachment device adapted to couple the fall protection anchor to a structure, an anchorage connector adapted to connect personal fall protection equipment to the fall protection anchor to deploy fall restraint. In one embodiment, an integral strain indicator made of a degradable material is placed within the fall protection anchor, and after a certain amount of force indicative of a fall impact is reached, deforms giving a visual indication to safety inspectors that a fall event has occurred. In an alternative embodiment the strain indicator can be formed into a housing which covers an attachment device as well as the post the attachment device is attached to.
FALL ARREST ROOF MOUNT ANCHOR
A fall arrest roof mount anchor is designed to secure construction and maintenance personnel working at heights, utilising harness and lanyard fall protection equipment. The roof mount anchor comprises a mounting plate having a uniform cross-section defining a raised central portion and side portions for roof attachment. The raised central portion has a swivel eye anchor point for attachment of conventional height safety harness hardware.
Fall protection device
A fall protection device for a user working on horizontal surfaces in construction sites, which can adopt two end positions: an operating protection position and a non-operating storage position. The device has a mast releasably couplable at the lower end to a fixed element of the construction with the possibility of pivoting on its own vertical shaft; an arm at a first end of an articulated joint articulated with the end of the upper portion of the mast, the second end thereof being free and the arm configured to receive in an area of the second end the coupling of fastening and attachment for the user; a strut with a first end articulately joined to the arm and with a second end to be fastened on a point of the upper portion of the mast under the end of the upper portion where the mast is articulated with the arm.
