A modular unit for constructing a barrier, where the modular unit can fully or partially be manufactured in a factory for transport to the location of the barrier, with the modular units having a base and at least a pair of wall panels installed on the base. The modular units are assembled into the barrier by placing the modular units side-by-side along a line or curve on a mounting surface. The modular units are designed with features to prevent climbing or scaling over the barrier and support electronic and power equipment to protect and monitor the protected location.

A panel-post connector plate 16 for connecting a fence post 12 to an adjacent fence panel 14. The panel-post connector plate 16 comprises a plate body 84 having a post-receiving aperture 86 for receiving at least part of the fence post 12 therethrough, and a fastener receiving aperture 92 for receiving a fastener to attach the plate body 84 to a panel-body of the adjacent fence panel 14. A fencing system and method includes: a first vertical post secured at least partially below ground; a second vertical post secured at least partially below the ground; a first rail member having a first slot attached to the first vertical post; a second rail member having a second slot attached to the second vertical post; a third rail member having a third slot; a fourth rail member having a fourth slot; a plurality of generally horizontally arranged cement composite slats positioned in a common plane formed by the first slot and the second slot forming a floating arrangement of horizontally positioned cement composite slats; and wherein the first rail member, the second rail member, the third rail member, and the fourth rail member form a frame for the floating arrangement of horizontally positioned cement composite slats.

A multi-threat security apparatus system for critical infrastructure protection is disclosed having an above-ground concrete base, a vertical post system adapted to be attached to the above-ground concrete base and to receive a plurality of louvers. The plurality of louvers provides the necessary ballistic protection for and air flow through to the critical infrastructure. The louvers may include a composite of aluminum foam, a resin impregnated ballistic material and an aluminum foam. The composite structure may be used on doors, panels or building walls.

A panel assembly includes two frame members and a plurality of panels extending between the frame members. Each panel has fastening elements at either end. The fastening elements are arranged to clip onto mating portions of the frame members, and are also arranged to frictionally engage internal surfaces of the panels to thereby hold the panels relative to the frame members.

A modular fencing system comprises two or more substantially vertical posts, one or more panels, and one or more track members. Each of the posts comprises abase and an upright member extending from the base. The upright member comprises a plurality of surfaces, and at least one of the surfaces defines a channel. An improved base shoe for use with panel installation removal systems. The improved base shoe includes dovetail grooves for use with a safety-seal and a weather seal, wherein the safety-seal and weather seal must be installed prior to installing a glass panel. The improved base shoe features a recess for use with taper plates having a continuous projection along an upper surface. The base shoe and taper plates are configured so as to provide a prying surface between the projection on the taper plates and a wall of the base shoe.

A prefabricated modular fencing system comprises first and second fence panels, each panel having opposing side ends. Each side end carries outboard connectors. The connectors have upper sides defining one of a concavity and a convexity and have lower sides defining the other of a concavity and a convexity, and the connectors define a bore within each convexity. The convexity of a connector carried by the first fence panel may be complementary with and interfitted within the concavity of another connector carried by the second fence panel, to assemble the first and second fence panels together. A post is disposed through the bores of interfitted connectors.
