URBAN TRANSFORMATION AND CONSTRUCTION METHOD FOR CREATING A PUBLIC ACCESS TROPICAL STYLE SWIMMING LAGOON WITH BEACHES WITHIN VACANT OR ABANDONED SITES
An urban transformation and construction method is disclosed that creates a tropical style swimming lagoon at vacant and/or abandoned sites. The transformation includes demolishing at least part of the vacant or abandoned site, excavating material from within the site; forming a basin for a large water body having a surface area of at least 3,000 m2, and constructing water containment walls on a first section of the basin to form a waterfront perimeter. The shape of the waterfront perimeter is mainly curved, the basin has a maximum width of 300 meters, and the bottom is covered with a non-permeable material. A sloped access area is constructed in a second section of the basin to form a beach. A barrier is constructed to control access into the area including the beach. At least one recreational facility is constructed including restaurants, bars, kiosks, stores, and/or cafes about the waterfront perimeter.
Fabric children's wading pool and method of use
A foldable, portable fabric children's wading pool for installation in the ground and which has improved stability characteristics is provided. The pool includes a base region with a generally circular sheet of water-resistant woven fabric with a thread denier of between 400 denier and 600 denier, a stabilizer region comprising one or more sections of woven fabric with a thread denier of between 200 denier and 400 denier, where the stabilizer region is affixed to the outer edge of the base region, and with a number of sand anchors affixed to the stabilizer region. The pool is set up by digging a hole in the ground and forming berms along the edges of the hole. Then, the pool is unfolded and positioned such that the waterproof fabric base is in the hole, and the sand anchor section extends downwardly and outwardly from the edge of the sand berm. Then, a weighting material is loaded onto the sand anchor section and the pool is filled with water, preferably using the waterproof bag that also serves as a storage and transport bag for the pool when folded.
Frame pool
A frame pool includes a pool body having a space for containing liquid and a support frame for supporting the pool body. The pool body has an upper edge with a sleeve. The support frame includes an upper frame extending through the sleeve and a plurality of support members holding the upper frame in an elevated position. The upper frame includes first upper tubes, second upper tubes, and connecting tubes connecting the first upper tubes to the second upper tubes. Collars are provided within assembling ends of the first and second upper tubes. Each end of each of the connecting tubes is movably inserted into a collar located within an assembling end of a corresponding one of the upper tubes. Anti-rust coatings on the outer surfaces of the connecting tubes can be prevented from being worn and water can be sealed out of the tubes of the upper frame.
Outdoor device for simulating pond ecosystem
The disclosure provides an outdoor device for simulating a pond ecosystem comprising a plurality of simulated ponds connected together by pipelines and including an adjusting pool, a plurality of control groups and a plurality of treatment groups with different concentrations; the plurality of control groups and the treatment groups are randomly distributed in the ponds according to a random draw method or a random allocation method, and the adjusting pool is a transfer station for water inlets and outlets of the ponds. According to the device, the plurality of control groups and treatment groups are arranged in a system, achieving a scale of a middle-scale pond ecological simulation system, which can stimulate an actual complex hydrostatic ecological system including a plurality of aquatic macrophytes, algae, zooplankton, benthos and microorganisms, and evaluate the effects of the complex ecological efficiency caused by chemical pollutants entering an actual water body.
Heating apparatus for pool liner repair and method
A heating tool for thermally manipulating an installed pool liner layer includes a manifold portion and a heat supply portion. The manifold portion forms a closed-loop passageway having a wall and a thermal distribution rail that includes a plurality of heat ports extending through the wall. The manifold portion is structured to pass between an installed pool liner layer and a supporting side wall and permitting manipulation and movement of the heating tool between the pool liner and the side wall. A heat supply portion includes a handle with a co-axially formed inlet passage in fluid communication with a fluid line connection that connects the inlet passage with a heated fluid source.
Container assembly and method for making same
The invention is an assembly of prefabricated metal receptacles forming a swimming pool and a method for constructing the assembly. Among other features, the assembly is characterized by guided clamping structures that allow on-site construction without requiring on-site welding or access to the bottom or interior of the assembly.
Methods of Bonding Articles Using Moisture-Curing Adhesive Composition
An adhesive composition may be applied to a surface, such as plastic, metal, wood, stucco, plaster, brick, concrete, glass, rubber, tile, fiberglass, ceramic, porcelain, canvas, stone, or drywall. The adhesive-containing surface is then pressed into contact with a second surface to create a strong, watertight bond. The methods disclosed herein may be used to assemble and/or repair a variety of articles and structures, such as roofs, gutters, boats, kayaks, personal watercraft, canoes, rafts, inflatable articles such as toys, sporting equipment, and air mattresses, outdoor equipment, mobile homes, recreational vehicles, campers, garden hoses, low-pressure PVC and plumbing pipes, tents, vinyl awnings, covers and tarps, swimming pools, windows, doors, walls, seams, vents, air ducts, HVAC systems, and the like. Also disclosed herein are methods of testing the bonding strength of an adhesive, methods of affecting underwater repairs, and methods of assembling an all-terrain vehicle.
