A spa pool cover lifter and a spa pool including a spa pool cover lifter are disclosed. The spa pool cover lifter may include a first arm pivotally attached to a first section of an articulated spa pool cover and a second arm pivotally attached to a second section of the articulated spa pool cover. The first and second arms may be configured such that rotation of the first arm causes the first and second sections of the spa pool cover to fold together. An actuator and controller is disclosed. A mechanical linkage between the actuator and first arm is disclosed. The mechanical linkage may be an over-rotation linkage.

A movement assistance device for a spa cover having at least two spa cover portions each spa cover portion having opposing lateral peripheral edges, hinge and end peripheral edges and wherein the spa cover portions are movable one relative to the other from a first coplanar orientation to a second, stacked orientation, and a biasing pneumatic cylinder which cooperates with and extends between a first bracket secured to one lateral peripheral edge of one spa cover portion and a hinge bracket secured to the same lateral peripheral edge of the same spa cover portion adjacent the hinge peripheral edge and the hinge bracket is further secured to an aligned lateral peripheral edge of a second spa cover portion and adjacent to the hinge peripheral edge thereof, and wherein the pneumatic cylinder assists and controls the movement one spa cover portion relative to the other spa cover portion.

A lift assembly for a spa cover includes a lifting arm having a first end pivotally connectable to the spa cover and a second end pivotally connectable to a base of a spa, the connection of the second end of the lifting arm with the spa housing defining a pivot point, and a lift-assist device having a first end configured for coupling to the base at a point substantially directly below the pivot point and a second end operatively connectable to the lifting arm. The lift-assist device is configured to exert a generally upwards biasing force on the cover when the cover is received atop said spa.

An above-ground swimming pool with integral automatic raising and lowering hard cover, and an automatic raising and lowering retrofit hard cover for an existing in-ground and above-ground swimming pool. The raising and lowering of the hard cover takes place with the utilization of two or more linear actuators that are telescopic or non-telescopic and actuated through the use of mechanical (screw jack, rack and pinion or pulley types), hydraulic (piston type), pneumatic (piston type), electro-mechanical, Piezoelectric and linear motor devices. The hard cover provides several benefits to the user of the pool.

A spa cover lifting system is provided for selectively removing and replacing the cover of a spa. The spa cover lifter system has a frame configured to hold a cover of the spa and an actuator coupled to the frame. Selective actuation of the actuator by a user causes at least a portion of the frame and the cover to rotate about and between a first, closed position, in which access to the water of the spa is restricted, and a second, open position, in which access to the water of the spa is not restricted. The actuator and at least a portion of the frame are positioned below a deck that is around the outside of the spa so that the actuator and at least a portion of the frame are inaccessible to a user of the spa during normal usage.

A lift system for a spa cover includes a first lift assembly configured for coupling to a first side of a spa, the first lift assembly including a motor and a first lever arm, the first lever arm having a first end configured for driving connection to the motor, and a second end configured for operative connection to a spa cover, and a clutch assembly configured to transmit torque from the motor to the first lever arm, the clutch assembly including a drive plate rotatably driven by the motor, a clutch plate arranged parallel to the drive plate, and a plurality of projections extending from one of the drive plate and the clutch plate and being configured to engage a corresponding plurality of recesses in the other of the drive plate and the clutch plate.

A lift system for a spa cover includes a fist lift assembly associated with a first side of a spa, and a second lift assembly associated with an opposed, second side of the spa. The first lift assembly includes a motor for applying an uncovering force to a spa cover. The second lift assembly includes a compression spring exerting a generally downward force on the cover when the cover is in the closed position, and a generally upwards force on the cover when the cover is moved towards an open position to assist in an uncovering operation. The second lift assembly also includes a tension spring configured to exert an upward force on the cover when the cover is in the open position to assist the first lift assembly in a covering operation.

The invention relates to a covering device for liquid tanks, in particular swimming pools, comprising a buoyant covering element, the covering element comprising a continuous covering layer and a fluid chamber connected to the covering layer, a pumping being provided, which is designed to convey a liquid, in particular water, and/or a gas, in particular air, into the fluid chamber. The invention also relates to an assembly of a covering device according to the invention together with a liquid tank.

A movement assistance and stowage device for a spa cover that is movable relative to a spa opening from a first position at least partially occluding the spa opening, to a second position removed from the spa opening and stowed adjacent the spa body and, when stowed, the spa cover is not substantially above an upper peripheral edge of the spa body, the movement assistance and stowage device providing a mounting body secured to a side portion of the spa body and carrying a pivoting lever arm and pivoting control lever arm, and both pivoting arms are connected to, and extend between, the mounting body and a channel bracket on a lateral peripheral edge of the spa cover, and pneumatic cylinders extend between the mounting body and lever arm to provide mechanical advantage and control to movement and stowage of the spa cover.

A spa cover lift is disclosed. The spa cover lift includes a support structure, and a lifting structure coupled to the support structure, the lifting structure having an actuator configured to store and release energy during lifting and storing of a spa cover. Embodiments of the spa cover lift include an electro-mechanical actuator configured to move the spa cover from between a “covered state” and a “stored state.”
