Lock Actuation Assembly
20220381064 · 2022-12-01 ·

Disclosed is a lock actuation assembly for actuating a lock of a door. Prior to first commanding a motor to rotate a key in the key hole a controller of the lock actuation assembly is configured to: receive an indication that a key holder is disposed to have the key at least partially inserted into the key hole; determine a rotational position of a key holder receptacle relative to a mounting portion of the lock actuation assembly from the indication by a position encoder; and store, in an electronic data storage, the rotational position as an initial insertion/extraction position at which the key is insertable to, and extractable from, the key hole.

An electrical mechanical locking device. A lock has an outer shell with an indentation. An inner body is rotatably housed within the outer shell. A contact pin is connected to the inner body. A printed circuit board frame is rigidly connected to the inner body. A printed circuit board is attached to the printed circuit board frame. A driver arm support bracket is rigidly connected to the printed circuit board frame. A lock microprocessor is connected to the printed circuit board and electrically connected to the contact pin. The lock microprocessor is connected to a key identification code verification database. An electrical actuator is electrically connected to the lock microprocessor. A driver arm is pivotally connected to the driver arm support bracket. The electrical actuator is connected to the driver arm. A jam plate is connected to the driver arm. A jam plate return spring is connected to the jam plate and the printed circuit board frame. A locking pin is covered by the jam plate and inserted into the outer shell indentation when the electrical mechanical device is locked. When the electrical mechanical device is unlocked the locking pin is not covered by the jam plate and rises clear of the indentation. A powered key includes a key microprocessor. A battery power source is electrically connected to the key microprocessor. The key microprocessor has access to key database that includes a programmable key identification code for identifying the key. The key also includes a contact tip for insertion into the lock and for making electrical contact with the lock contact pin. In a preferred embodiment the electrical actuator is a nitinol wire.

Apparatus and method for assisting a user in actuating a locking mechanism associated with a storage device

An apparatus and method for assisting a user in actuating a locking mechanism associated with a storage device. The locking mechanism has a combination input device and a lock capable of being switched from a locked state to an unlocked state upon entering a preset combination using the combination input device. The actuator comprises an interface configured to releasably engage the combination input device of the locking mechanism and move the combination input device to actuate the locking mechanism and transition the lock from the locked state to the unlocked state. A controller is in communication with the actuator and configured to operate the actuator so that the actuator moves the combination input device based on the preset combination to actuate the locking mechanism and transition the lock from the locked state to the unlocked state.

DUAL FUNCTION LOCK CYLINDER ASSEMBLY OPERABLE BY DIFFFERENT KEYS

A lock cylinder assembly includes a housing, a first cylinder disposed within a first bore formed in the housing, and a second cylinder disposed within a second bore formed in the housing, in which at least one of the first and second cylinders is an electronic cylinder. The lock cylinder assembly further includes first and second cams, in which each of the first and second cams are configured to actuate a door lock mechanism. The first cam is directly connected to the second cylinder so as to be rotatable with the second cylinder. The second cylinder and the second cam are rotatable with respect to each other so that the second cam does not rotate with the second cylinder. The second cam is rotatably coupled to the first cylinder so that the second cam rotates when the first cylinder is rotated.

A key, a lock core and a lock, relating to a key, a lock core and a lock are provided. The key includes: a column body, a first end of the column body being provided with a light emitting component; a first cathode component disposed on the column body and connected to one end of the light emitting component to be mated with a second cathode component in the lock core; a first piezoelectric electrode disposed on the column body and connected to the other end of the light emitting component to be pressed against a second piezoelectric electrode in the lock core. When the first cathode component is mated with the second cathode component in the lock core, and the first piezoelectric electrode is pressed against the second piezoelectric electrode in the lock core, a piezoelectric current is generated, to cause the light emitting component to emit light.

The present invention provides a motorised door lock assembly 10 in order for a user to be able to lock and unlock a door remotely and/or with a conventional key or with a thumb turn 22 from the inside. In particular, a user may decide to continue to use a key from the outside and the thumb turn (or an internal key mechanism) from the inside but at any stage the user (or a different user) may decide to operate the lock remotely. The motorised system may be activated by a number of actuators and, in particular, the motorised system may be activated by a remote key fob, a smart phone, an internally mounted push button or an external key pad. The assembly of the present invention is able to provide a continuous choice of all three methods (where permitted) without the risk of the lock becoming stuck in one position and without the user having to perform an elaborate particular sequence to operate the lock. The present invention is particularly for use with a Euro cylinder lock combined with a multipoint locking system 14 which thereby has operating limitations. The remotely activated motorised mechanism comprises a motor 50, a worm gear 52, a driven gear 54, rotary locking spindle engagement means 30 to transmit movement of the motor 50 to a rotary locking spindle of the cylinder lock, and a remote control actuator, the remotely activated motorised mechanism further comprising a multipoint monitoring system to determine an operational status of the multipoint locking mechanism and a rotary lock bolt monitoring system to determine an operational status of the lock bolt; and wherein the rotary locking spindle engagement means is arranged to directly engage a component of a thumb turn mechanism of a door lock.
