The disclosure generally relates to a system and method for randomly generating unlock codes and identifiers for locks, and creating unlock code and identifier pairs. In an exemplary embodiment, the invention is integrated with, or part of, a distributed management system that controls access to various locations, such as, for example, self-storage units, hotel rooms, apartment buildings, storage containers, short-term housing rentals, lockers, equipment rooms, vaults, hospitals, airports, government facilities, nuclear power facilities, water treatment facilities, weapon storage facilities, aircraft cockpits, and any other setting that requires restricted, selective, or monitored access that can be remotely controlled, whereby users can request an unlock code via text messaging using a mobile device.

An exit device according to one embodiment includes a plurality of sensors and an electronic dogging mechanism. The exit device is configured to locally analyze sensor data to determine the security state of the exit device, report data to a management system via a wireless communication channel established between the exit device and the management system, and receive and process instructions to perform an electronic dogging operation.

The present disclosure generally relates to providing electronic locking systems. Using novel designs and network technology, the present systems, methods, and apparatuses can provide a secure alternative to a cam lock or a lock box for storing items that may be left unattended, without the use of a physical key. A lock indicator and a mechanical lock assembly, comprising: a switch; a transmitter coupled to a power source; and a bolt member moveable between a retracted position and an extended position with respect to the housing, wherein the switch is configured to engage the bolt member and is actuatable by the bolt member to determine the position of the bolt member, and the transmitter is configured to transmit a signal indicative of the position of the bolt member to a remote device.

A lock indicator and a mechanical lock assembly, comprising: a switch; a transmitter coupled to a power source; and a bolt member moveable between a retracted position and an extended position with respect to the housing, wherein the switch is configured to engage the bolt member and is actuatable by the bolt member to determine the position of the bolt member, and the transmitter is configured to transmit a signal indicative of the position of the bolt member to a remote device.
