The electronic gaming machine also includes a door releasably fastened to the cabinet operable to move between a locked state preventing access to the interior space and an unlocked state permitting access to at least a portion of the interior space. A security housing comprising a locking assembly and an optical switch coupled to a processor. The locking assembly includes an actuator defining a channel. The optical switch comprises a transmitter and a receiver. When the door engages the locking assembly, the actuator is operable to move the channel to align with the transmitter and the receiver to form an optical path between the transmitter and the receiver through the channel and the optical switch is operable to communicate the locked state to at least one of the processor, the server computer, and the gaming system.

Door Barricade

Barricade devices and methods of barricading a door are disclosed. Such devices and methods may be used to barricade a door, and thereby prevent an intruder from entering a sheltering space, such as a classroom, storeroom, or hallway. The barricade-device may have a pivotable stop-device that is pivotable from a location adjacent to a door. The pivot-location may be at an elevation that is lower than a door handle on the door. The stop-device may be pivotable from a reserve-position to a stop-position. In the reserve-position, the stop-device does not barricade the door. In the barricade-position, the stop-device barricades the door. Operation of the barricade-device may require the use of one or more major muscle groups of the body, but need not require precise dexterity of the fingers or hands (e.g. such as that required to manipulate small keys, latches, and/or the grasping and turning of assemblies). As such, the barricade-device may be used properly and quickly by a wide range of people having differing physical and mental capabilities.

Foot operated door opener
20170218661 · 2017-08-03 ·

A foot operated door opener device that includes a pair of pedals near the lower corner of the door below the door knob/lever. The pedals are connected to a shaft that pivots within housings that are mounted to either side of the door across from one another. The pedal is hooked to a flexible strap or cable that runs vertically up to the knob/lever horizontal shaft. The cable or strap is connected and wrapped around the rotatable knob/lever shaft. As the operator depresses the pedal the cable or strap is pulled downward and rotates the knob/lever unlatching the door. The pedal is pulled or pushed by the operators' foot/shoe to open. Once the operator is through the doorway, the operator can close and re-latch the door by pulling or pushing the door pedal by foot without ever having to touch the knob/lever handle with their hands.

DOOR SECURITY DEVICE
20170321459 · 2017-11-09 ·

A door security apparatus includes: a base defining a first anchor point and at least one second anchor point; a storage element carried by the base; and a flexible connector carried by the storage element and having a proximal end and a distal end, wherein the proximal end is connected to the first anchor point, the flexible connector being moveable between a first stored position within the storage element, and a second extended position.

Structure for Operating Striker Capable of Being Fastened to Door Latch Part

A structure includes a latch part to be mounted in a first door and a striker part to be mounted in a second door, the striker part including a housing, a movable unit to be connected to and movable in the housing, a striker mounted at one side of the movable unit and fixable by being caught by the latch part or releasable, and an operating unit for moving the movable unit, wherein the operating unit moves the movable unit in a direction in which the striker and the latch part become close to each other while the first and second doors are closed, and the operating unit moves the movable unit in a direction in which the striker and the latch part become distant from each other while the first and second doors are opened.

Fenestration assembly operation hardware and methods for same

A fenestration hardware assembly includes a blade socket including a blade recess and an operator interface feature rotatably coupled with an operator housing. A latch blade is movably coupled with the operator housing. The latch blade is movable between deployed and withdrawn positions. In the deployed position at least a portion of the latch blade is received in the blade recess of the blade socket. In the withdrawn position the portion of the latch blade is recessed from the blade recess. The operator interface feature is rotatable between at least locked and unlocked configurations. In the locked configuration the latch blade is in the deployed position and received in the blade recess. In the unlocked configuration the latch blade is translated from the deployed position to the withdrawn position and withdrawn from the blade recess according to rotation of the operator interface feature.

LEVER ACTION AUTOMATIC SHOOTBOLT OPERATOR WITH MAGNETICALLY-TRIGGERED LOCK MECHANISM

A magnetically-triggered lock mechanism for interengaging two relatively movable components. The lock mechanism includes a bolt mounted within a first component and displaceable between retracted and extended positions to interengage with a second component when the first and second components are in a predetermined position relative to each other and the bolt is extended, and a magnetically-releasable latch mechanism positioned to latch the bolt in a retracted position, the latch mechanism including a first magnet and mounted for movement between a biased latch engaging position and a latch releasing position in a non-common direction of movement of the bolt. An adjustable strike having an actuator portion including a second magnet is positioned to displace the latch mechanism to the latch releasing position when the first component is in the predetermined position relative to the second component, wherein the actuator portion is pivotable about a transverse axis of the strike body in response to magnetic communication between the first and second magnets to maintain the actuator portion within close proximity to the latch mechanism.
