Integrated fenestration status monitoring system and methods for the same
A fenestration assembly includes a fenestration frame and at least one panel movable between open and closed positions. A locking mechanism is coupled with the at least one panel and includes at least one latch and at least one latch fastener. The panel includes a secure configuration with the panel in the closed position and the latch coupled with the latch fastener. In the unsecure configuration one or more of the panel is in the open position or the latch is decoupled from the latch fastener. A status monitoring assembly monitors the secure and unsecure configurations and includes a sensor operator coupled with the latch, and a sensor coupled with one of the fenestration frame or the panel. In the secure configuration, the status monitoring assembly detects the sensor operator with the sensor if the panel is in the closed position and the latch is coupled with the latch fastener.
SASH LOCK CAPABLE OF BI-DIRECTIONAL ENGAGEMENT
A sash lock for a sash window assembly is disclosed. The sash window assembly includes an upper sash window and a lower sash window. Each of the sash windows is mounted within opposed guide rails on a master frame. At least one of the sash windows is slidable within the frame relative to the other sash window. The sash lock comprises either a keeper, with a keeper opening, for mounting on a rail of one of the sash windows or a recess in the lower rail of the upper sash. The sash lock disclosed herein includes a housing having a hole, an actuator arm, and a cam having a cam element for receipt into the keeper opening or the recess. The locking assembly also includes a shaft extending through the housing hole and operably coupling the actuator arm to the cam.
Sash lock and tilt latch also functioning as a window vent stop, with automatic locking upon closure
A sash window fastener includes: a latch assembly; a sash lock assembly mounted upon the meeting rail; and a stop member mounted to the master window frame. The lock assembly includes a pivotable cam to engage a keeper on the master frame to lock the window, and a pivotable follower arm. The arm interconnects with the latch assembly within the meeting rail, so cam rotation that drives arm rotation also causes translation of the latch. The cam may occupy: an extended position to secure the cam to the keeper, with the latch engaging the master frame to prevent tilting, and being positioned below a protrusion on the stop member to redundantly lock the window; a first retracted cam position permitting sliding of the window; and a second retracted position permitting tilting of the sash window. Additional protrusions may be used on the stop member to serve as vent stop positions.
Combination four-position sash lock and tilt latch also functioning as a window opening control device
A sash window fastener includes a lock assembly, latch assembly, and stop member. The lock assembly mounts upon the meeting rail, and includes a pivotable cam to engage a keeper on the master frame, and a pivotable arm that acts as a follower. The arm interconnects with the latch within the meeting rail, so cam rotation controls arm positioningcausing translational movement of the latch. The cam can occupy four positions causing four corresponding latch positions: an extended position securing the cam to the keeper, with the latch engaging the master frame to prevent tilting, and contacts a first stop to redundantly lock the window; a first retracted position permitting sliding of the window, but limited by the slightly retracted latch clearing the first stop but contacting a second stop; a second retracted position permitting sliding beyond the second stop, but preventing tilting; and a third retracted position permitting tilting.
Window lock with adjustable reinforcement members
A window lock with a lock housing positioned on a first window sash and containing a cam rotatably connected to a handle protruding vertically from the housing and including two adjustable reinforcement members extending laterally from the rear surface of the lock housing is provided. The window lock also includes a lock keeper positioned on a second, adjacent window sash with a central slot sized and shaped to receive the cam therein and a pair of channels oriented in longitudinally opposing orientation relative to the central slot, each channel defining a T shape to receive each of the adjustable reinforcement members therein.
Impact resistant lock and tilt latch combination for a sliding sash window
A sash window fastener includes lock and latch assemblies, and a fitting. The lock mounts upon the meeting rail, and includes a pivotable cam to engage a keeper on the master frame, and a pivotable arm acting as a follower. The arm interconnects with the latch within the meeting rail, so cam rotation controls arm positioningcausing translation of the latch. The cam can occupy three positions causing three corresponding latch positions: an extended position securing the cam to the keeper, with the latch engaging the master frame to prevent tilting, and also receiving a post of the fitting therein to further secure the window against impact loading; a first retracted position disengaging the cam from the keeper, and permitting sliding of the window into an open position that also elevates the latch member above the post; and a second retracted cam position causing latch member retraction that permits tilting.
Tamper-resistant lock
A tamper-proof lock includes: a housing, shaft/handle, cam, lever, spring, and plate. The shaft is pivotally mounted in a housing orifice, with the cam pivotally mounted to the shaft. The cam has first and second shaped openings at first and second respective radial positions, and an arcuate recess. The lever is secured to the shaft, and has a protrusion that alternately engages each of first and second ends of the arcuate recess to respectively/selectively drive the cam to rotate/counter-rotate in first and second directions, into locked and unlocked cam positions. The spring biases the plate for a protrusion thereon to be respectively received within each of first and second shaped cam openings, when aligned therewith at those cam positions, and for a curved surface of the plate to be correspondingly received within first and second curved cam recesses, respectively, when aligned therewith, which facilitate withdrawal of the plate protrusion.
Integrated sash lock and tilt latch combination using one lock for two tilt latches
A sash fastener for securing a slidable and tiltable sash window includes a lock assembly and left-hand and right-hand latch assemblies. The lock assembly is mounted upon the sash window meeting rail, and includes a pivotable cam to engage a keeper on the master frame, a handle to pivot the cam, and a pair of pivotable arms, each extending into the meeting rail. A link selectively connects the two arms, and when actuation of the handle causes the cam to rotate, it may selectively drive one of the arms to pivot, with the link causing the other arm to pivot. The left- and right-hand latch assemblies each include a housing, biasing means, a latch member with an adjustable receiver clip having an opening therein configured to receive one of the arms of the lock assembly, within the meeting rail, with movement of the arms actuating the latch to permit tilting.
Lock capable of locking movable door
A lock capable of locking a movable door includes a lock shell having opening parts, and hook tongues extending out of the opening parts. The lock further includes lock tongue support frames, lock tongue reset springs, left and right first guide grooves, and shifting blocks. The lock tongue support frames are movably disposed on the lock shell and combined with shaft pins. The hook tongues have lower shaft holes and rotatably sleeve the shaft pins via the lower shaft holes. Each lock tongue reset springs has one free end combined with the lock tongue support frames, and another one free end combined with the hook tongues. The left and right first guide grooves are symmetrically-arranged and correspond to the shaft pins. Two ends of the shaft pins respectively extending into the left and right first guide grooves. The shaft pins drive the hook tongues to move to be unhooked or locked when the lock tongue support frames move to drive the shaft pins to move along the left and right first guide grooves. Axial centers of the shifting blocks have center holes that allow shifting sheets to be inserted therein. The lock tongue support frames are able to move back and forth to respond to rotation of shifting handles on the shifting blocks when the shifting blocks rotate.
COMBINATION WINDOW LATCH
A window combination latch (140) includes a sash lock (142) and tilt a latch assembly (230). The sash lock (142) installs on a top rail of a window sash (110) and includes a cam (214) that rotatably couples with a keeper (144) to lock the window sash (110). The cam (214) includes a slot (320). The latch assembly (230) when installed has a tip (422) of a latch bolt (232) adjacent to a surface of a stile (112) of the window sash (110) and a head (412) of the latch bolt (232) engaged in the slot (320). The latch bolt (232) may be a one-piece structure that may include a flexible extension (414).
